I think BB also gave a dig at Colts...that maybe they overinflated balls so they would show up as normal at halftime . Knowing they would be tested. Maybe irsay even sacrificed colts chance by insisting higher psi for Lucks balls

Agree. Obviously this is conjecture, but I believe the entire situation was orchestrated by the Ravens (after hearing Jay Glazer's report). Harbaugh was completely humiliated and exposed by his lack of preparation and knowledge of the rules after his absurd deception comments following the Baltimore game. We all remember Tom Brady saying that the coach needs to learn the rule book. It seems that every comment I have read from current and past quarterback indicates that manipulation of the ball is common and expected. Harbaugh probably knew that Brady prefers his footballs on the lower end of the PSI scale whereas other quarterbacks, such as Rodgers, push the limit to make the balls over-inflated. Harbaugh then tipped off the Colts who of course then made sure that their footballs were inflated strictly within the acceptable limits since they knew that the footballs would be confiscated at halftime.

The worm has turned. Even before the BB press conf, Peter King, official shill mouthpiece of the NFL went on Mike and Mike and made a lot of interesting comments. Such as saying a few times 'if anything was really done' and saying 'what if 3 months from now Bill Belichick is totally exonerated'.

I think the league got a complaint that they understand was silly. They understand weather impacts the pressure within a football and nothing the Patriots did was wrong, and perhaps the officials short changed the inspection as it sounds like they do.
Because its the Patriots they need to leak out information that made it look like they started their investigation suspicious of the Patriots and are leaving no stone unturned to find any wrong doing.
Now, on the day they allow BB to speak, they float out information that maybe we will never know what happened, that the Patriots could be totally exonerated, and BB gets in front of it with a vague I have no explanation to throw it back to the league to come up with one.
Bad day for the haters and Brady will finish it in the 4th quarter, err at 4 O'Clock.

Serious question.
Aside from Misplaced Camera-gate, what other "scandals" have the Pats been, reputedly, been involved in? Some idiot from the Prov. journal says they are paying for the sins of the past. WHAT SINS???
The Today Show decided that the ineligible formations against the Ravens were worth mentioning in the same piece. This was something like the third story on national morning news, and Belichick is getting hammered for things that the league has said were perfectly acceptable.

Best tongue-in-cheek idea I've seen for a punishment is that we're forced to go on Hard Knocks next year. At least we fans will be entertained.

Bill set it up for Tom, Saying if you use 12.5 psi it will be lower when they check at halftime,,,,So all Tom has to say is I like them at 12.5 and that's what we use...if it goes down during game I have no control over that
I think it was interesting BB said that from now on they will inflate it well above 12.5 because 13.5 to 12.0 is legal but 12.5 to 12.3 is illegal. This is going to be their line of defense.
But I dont think tom measures PSI's. He is going to say that before the game he practices with a set of balls and works with the euipment manager to make them fit and then they are handed off to the refs.

I want to see the Pats absolutely dominate the Hawks on Feb. 1.

Dear Legion of Boom:

"We're coming, and hell's coming with us".

Pagano worked for Harbaugh.
They probably talked about how stupid Harbaugh looked and he asked Pagano to help him make BB look bad. The 'they should study the rule book' is interesting too. So Harbaugh probably realized that it is common on cold days for balls to lose pressure (he said his kickers complain about it) so he told Pagano to tell the league he suspects the Patriots are using under inflated balls.
If you can't beat them......

I have heard the ineligible formation thing in multiple outlets as cheating. If Manning had done this , they would regarded as greatest ever.

I can get behind this "punishment".

Everyone do yourself a favor and turn off ESPN.

If you stop watching, you won't care. If you stop watching, they'll move onto the next fresh "scandal".
Wait, if I turn off ESPN they will know it and talk about something else?
Done, let me know what they talk about now.

What infuriates me are the allegations that Colts already knew about this thanks to the Ravens. If true, it points to a greater conspiracy to smear our name on silly issues that have no impact on the game.

Maybe Mr. Kraft should hire some investigative guys to look into the above and report, thereby lifting the veil of some of the powerful haters.

Looking fwd for TB's fourth quarter performance. Nicely put. :)

He didn't throw Tom "under the bus," but he definitely laid the question at Tom's feet and I'm sure they've got these responses well crafted and in sync.

It makes much more sense to have Tom answer these questions. it mitigates the whole "Belichick Evil Empire" giant conspiracy angle and puts it where it belongs, which is just a mild fluctuation of how QBs like the football to be... which sometimes is a bit higher or lower than the NFL technically delineates.

Also, if BB is behind it then you look at big Team sanctions, if it's just Tom getting a little loose with how he likes the footballs compared to the regulations, then it's maybe just a fine to the player (if that, I'd actually expect a warning), and a much smaller deal. As it should be!

Sports Hub saying maybe Mort got the number wrong. Could have been 0.2 pounds below the number as opposed to 2 pounds. Why else would Belichick make the 12.5 drop to 12.3 number? Just conjecture.
LOL. Mort also said there is disconnect between the patriots and brady after the KC gam.

The nfl has nothing! If they take a draft pick I would fight it!!! The officials messed this up as well.I think goodell is embarrased by the officials as well.
