Agree. I'm going to toot my own horn and mention I posted early yesterday that it didn't make sense BB would know. You don't go to your veteran HoF QB and say, "those are 12.5 PSI right Tom?". I'll go further and say since refs usually inflate or deflate as needed it's possible Tom doesn't even measure when prepping. Just does it by feel. Nobody even cared before this so he probably didn't either.
Since when is Tom Brady actually deflating the footballs.

Sports Hub saying maybe Mort got the number wrong. Could have been 0.2 pounds below the number as opposed to 2 pounds. Why else would Belichick make the 12.5 drop to 12.3 number? Just conjecture.
Possibly I guess

Here´s my take:

  • The mainstream media is calling for blood. Yet, they chose a wait and see approach to the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson situations. The integrity of the game is not tarnished with sexual and domestic violence situations, but when it comes to deflated footballs; the media will not have any of that. No sir.
  • Fans are making jokes, but they also seem to feel this is way overblown.
  • Two great articles over on deadspin right now about the overreaction of the media. Check those out.
  • Players, coaches, refs, and management around the league seem to think this is not even a serious issue which raises the questions; is this just an unwritten code among teams to not care about the ball inflation?
If the last part is true and teams around the league don´t care about this, then I can see other teams disliking what the Colts did. Pagano and his staff reported what they had, then tried to deny it, then tried be shifty about it and comment on it fully. I feel they broke a cardinal rule among teams that look the other way on this if the Patriots are guilty of doing what they did.

Well, this settles it and lays the foundation.....

Ladies and Gentlemen, give a good, warm welcome to your 2015 Los Angelas Patriots!

I think BB also gave a dig at Colts...that maybe they overinflated balls so they would show up as normal at halftime . Knowing they would be tested. Maybe irsay even sacrificed colts chance by insisting higher psi for Lucks balls

I can see the jokes in practice....hey Brady to Lafell....does that ball seem a bit soft to you...Revis to Brady...you throwing deflated balls again !

Which also raises the question of who is leaking and we do they still have a job?

The NFL is a f.cking joke. It is the worst sports league in the world, and that is coming from a life long fan. I quit following baseball in the 90s and never went back. Football is close to becoming extinct for me. I have had enough of this garbage. If their goal is to lose hard core fans they are succeeding. Roger Göodell lives right around the corner from me and I am going to make sure he knows just how much he sucks come summer

Serious question.
Aside from Misplaced Camera-gate, what other "scandals" have the Pats been, reputedly, been involved in? Some idiot from the Prov. journal says they are paying for the sins of the past. WHAT SINS???

That question was such a joke. It really annoyed me.

watching this BB presser

"The quality of the ball has never been an excuse, if a player complains during practice about a ball, I make it worse, that ends the complaint"

Mic ****ing dropped.

BB basically said FU to the colts. Why even bother going into the specifics of ball conditions in practice unless hes systematically calling them soar losers and whiners and blame ball condition on them losing.

No one has yet confirmed a word that Mort has reported, but EVERYONE is commenting on what it means as if its true.
Even people here are expounding theories about every ball being exactly the same psi, and that is not close to a fact.

Tells you a lot about the guy when he has to preface his comment with 'this may not be popular'

The sin of winning.....
Maybe they meant Wins of the past

Bill set it up for Tom, Saying if you use 12.5 psi it will be lower when they check at halftime,,,,So all Tom has to say is I like them at 12.5 and that's what we use...if it goes down during game I have no control over that

Right. So far the league has not imbued the rule with a requirement that the Ideal Gas Law be suspended during football games. At least not yet.

I mean if meeting the standard at the beginning of each half is not sufficient, what are they supposed to do? Reinflate and deflate the balls every five minutes if the temperature changes?

Everyone do yourself a favor and turn off ESPN.

If you stop watching, you won't care. If you stop watching, they'll move onto the next fresh "scandal".

I love it, BB is going to have the team drop triple digits on indy next year.

...and then there's Tom. Tom's a tall man in his late thirties. Handsome. Affable. Charming. Cleft chin. People who know Tom say he's not necessarily a bad person; he's just hyper competitive. Bill and Tom have worked together for 15 years...but does that relationship mean that Tom wouldn't hide something from Bill? And then there's the ballboy thing. Next time...on PsiGate.
