Mr Kraft, The Time has Come To Ask: Whose Side Are You On?

Personally, I wonder how it would be embraced if Kraft gave everyone a big **** you and boycotted the SB? I might actually enjoy the hell out of it.

Another send-off rally, I hope this one does not result in Super Bowl loss (like the other 3). Another mayor trying to gain popularity with the locals.

So there are rumors from the Senior Bowl (there are some NFL execs in attendance there) that NE will be forced to forfeit their 2nd round pick.

That's the kind of thing that really pisses me off. This very season (or perhaps last) the Vikings and Panthers were caught warming balls up in front of the sideline heaters during a game, which is just as against the rules of what NE is accused of doing.

What happened to them? A "don't do that again" warning from Blandino.

Then there's last night's report from Jay Glazer that the NFL was planning to test the balls at halftime of the AFCCG whether or not the Colts complained. That's an outright ambush -- the league could have called NE and said something like "We have reports of some irregularities in your game balls. Cut it out. Now. We'll be watching and checking." And then Glazer said this scheduled testing was "partially motivated" by NE filing tampering charges against NYJ. WTF??

This is all total double-standards BS.

I hope Kraft is happy with what his sucking up to Goodell and the other owners has gotten for him.

He should make a statement where -- while acknowledging that wrongs were done and some punishment was deserved -- he points out what total BS this is and how out of line it is with punishments other teams have received, and (in some quasi-diplomatic way) says what a complete tool Goodell is.

If the freaking owner cares more about being in the club with other owners than he cares about his team, I don't know how much I'm going to care about his team.

Seriously, enough with the 'boycott the Superbowl' stuff. The organization and players have spent years (some a lifetime) to achieve this. You think they'd just blow it off to prove a dubious point?

No kidding--what an absurd and unrealistic idea, even if it's said in an "Why, I outta send you to the moon!" type way. Any threat or talk about boycotting ANYTHING has the opposite intended effect and sends unbounded joy to of ALL the Pats haters.

The talk about not watching the NFL anymore over this is absurd too. I know people are super pissed to the point of wanting to break something, but seriously i don't know if people talking like this and pulling out of the SB are real fans, or just totally blinded by emotion right now.

I do agree 100% with Flasox and others that this media circus and circulation of the "Pats cheating again" meme is so damning to the franchise that Bob Kraft has to address this and support the organization, regardless of the outcome may be, or how long the investigation takes.

It's probably too late already. Driving my kid to school this AM here in S Dakota, a call-in poll comes on the local Top-40 radio station - Should the Patriots be allowed to play in the Super Bowl this year? The conversation continued like this:
Male DJ - "According to sports websites, not only are the Patriots and Bill Belichick accused of deflating a bunch of footballs during their game with the Colts, but now reports say they also did this during their previous game against the Ravens, a game that they barely won 35-31!"
Female DJ - "Oh wow!"
Male DJ - "Some callers say that Belichick should be suspended for the Superbowl, or half a season next year"..

Mike Pereira yesterday listed 'Taping the Rams walkthrough" as one of his 3 strikes against the Patriots

On Francesa's FS1 show yesterday, the background graphic had a 'List of Patriots Transgressions', which had 2 lines for Spygate (one was the accusation, the next was the punishment), and right after that ... 'Taped the Rams walkthrough before Superbowl 36".

Thanks to Kraft's inaction, Tomase, and Goodell's stupid handling of things, this is the legacy of the Patriots going forward.

Yup. That whole taping practices and walkthrough stuff is what people believe Camera-gate is. I have seen it on plenty of sites that reach millions of people. And, as you said, the former head of officials, who worked for the NFL when Camera-gate happened, lists Tomase's "report" as being true. I am so tired of having to defend all this crap.

I think he should quietly go about his business and quietly let Goodell know that if he bows to media pressure, the Ray Rice disciplinary situation will be issue number one at the owners' meetings.

kraft should tell goody that hes had enough of the media driven bs, any other team and this would be a none issue. so any disciple would result in a suit against the league. thats how al davis would have handled it.

Kraft doesn't need or want to sue the league. He just needs to threaten Goodell's $40M/year salary. That should be ample motivation. No need to go after his own Golden goose.

Bob Kraft alone can't threaten goodies salary, he'd need a majority of owners for that. And I know ha wont take legal action, he's not that type, but he should threaten to.

Agreed. Let Rog figure out what to do about the "odds makers"....His wife will be starting his car in the morning for the next few years!

As the OP of this thread, let me say that I am finally encouraged after BB's presser that the Patriots may have learned a lesson or ten from 7 years ago.

BB's presser was MILES more direct and to the point than anything he said about the last scandal until after the season with Armen Ketayen. This is progress.

The other positive is Brady moving up his presser from tomorrow to today at 3:45pm I hope he rips the whole controversy to shreds this afternoon.

Thirdly, and most importantly, it seems like the league is on board with getting this investigation done soon (no thanks to the SB coming in a few days - - they probably would have dragged it out more if this was September).

Good signs all. Hopefully, the momentum carries.

I think they did it because of you, schmess.

I kid, I kid.

No, I'll take full credit thank you very much!

I don't play, but as BB told me - - Just do your job!

Time for Kraft to come out of the bunker and stand up for his coach and star. That is the only way it will be resolved. Funny he didn't have any qualms about wrapping his arms around the POS in the middle of Ricegate. Maybe he thinks protecting his good buddy is more important his team. We await his response

I think it's obvious now where Kraft's loyalties lie. Turning your back on your fans AND your players who have worked so hard for you to get to this point. A real shame.

Ew, that's a good point….he was one of the only ones to come out in support of Goodell's handling of Ray Rice (and looking like a moron in the process) and he won't come out to support his coach and QB here. Nice.

I think we all now know without question which side the owner of the Pats is on after his gutless response today to the witch hunt. We all realize that he has to pledge cooperation to the farce of an inquisition undertaken by the POS commissioner. At least he could have included a statement of confidence in the two people who have made the franchise what it is , BB and Brady. That is what a mensch would have done and we now see what he is without his late wife providing him with a moral compass. Kraft has turned his back on his team and his team's fans in favor the POS, his fraternity of owner and the bimbo.
