I know the Pats have a bad history but how can they get docked a 2nd round pick when all other teams don't have any punishments at all or just a fine.

Nothing for the Jets for tampering, nothing for the Ravens for lying about Rice, nothing about the Vikings or Panthers warming up balls.

It is just crazy that the pats get railroaded like this.
Welcome to the league run by Kraft's good buddy. That's what happens you don't stand up for your team. You get it shoved where the sun don't shine repeatedly.

I can't believe the amount of people on this thread who are ready to leave being a Pats fan and would rather the team lost Sunday. LIke I said before I don't care what other teams fans think or say. Pats will be in 8th Super Bowl, I for one am going to enjoy it.

I will always be a Pats fan, however I refuse to support the NFL ever again if they unjustly punish the Patriots once again while other teams skate free. If there is excessive punishment to this franchise, I'm done. Out. Finito.

No, it screams is the second time we've caught you ignoring the rulebook so you are getting a steep penalty even though it's a stupid arbitrary rule that we'll probably be changing in the offseason.

Oh okay so Rodgers admitting to over inflating football's will cost his team a second rounder too?? I just disagree. How bout Carlina warming balls up on the sidelines??

A 2nd round pick?

Well, that's the Pats going 20-0 over the next 20 meaningful games then...

I'm really anxious to hear Brady and Belichick's media convo tomorrow, since they both publicly denied this.

If this fiasco true, and they knowingly messed with the balls, then they deserve to lose a 2nd. If they honestly didn't, then I surely hope they fight back tomorrow.

Saying "We're on to Seattle", repeatedly, will only make this worse.
Well Brady laughed off them deflating footballs, which again leads toward the popular theory they simply submit under inflated balls. If that is the case, he was right to laugh it off.

Just remember to not listen to Michael Irvin and buy that unauthorized Patriots gear! :D

I d0nt know what to make of Glazer's story that the NFL knew about the balls for months.

So Sunday's was a sting operation?

And they didn't do the most obvious thing in the sting? i.e. Pay attention to the balls?

Watch someone deflate them?

Why all these rumors about 11 balls if it was known? The 11 balls would be totally irrelevant if the league knew about this beforehand.
Agreed, that's why I think the rumor train has run off the tracks at this point. There's so many contradictory and nonsensical "reports" out now they couldn't possibly all be true.

If the Lande tweet is true, that is bogus.

Second round picks are highly valued by the Patriots, and to have one stripped, one would think that the NFL has found a "smoking gun".

However, with Rodger "The Shield" Goddell, perhaps past "sins" were more than enough in the absence of definitive proof.

This is unreal..story on O'reilly Factor, Kelly File, and now Hannity. I never imagined the legs this story would have.

He makes up penalties as the media mob dictates. No media complaints about the Jets repeatedly tampering no real penalty.

Yeah, when I read that I tend to think we're fine.

It would seem nearly impossible to have the ball attendant alter the balls, right? It would seem s/he is a paid member of the NFL. And there's zero chance this was done on the sideline. There's no way you could get all 11 footballs to such a precise, uniform number.

So the only way this happened is if something was done to the footballs during that incredibly small window of time after they've been given the ball attendant, but before the game starts. Do they have the footballs in the locker room at that stage? If so, then it's plausible (but still unlikely given that it would seem that the ball attendant is independent of the team). If they're provided to the ball attendant on the field I can't possibly see how we'll be found culpable.
but it was done though...that's the problem, Colts balls had correct PSI

These are billionaires playing high school crap. They hate Kraft because he is doing better than they are. That is why this is so much bigger than Ray Rice, Ray Lewis convicted of obstruction of justice in a murder case etc... They don't care about players and those problems as they mean nothing. Deflation is a way to stick it to Kraft and BB. Enjoy as much as you can but don't let it get to you. I don't even think the NFL will exist in 20 years because of brain damage claims. Look where heavy weight boxing was 20 years ago vs now.

I had a feeling this would be blown up the second it came out about the deflated balls.

No way. It's not worth more than a $25k fine.

well, this is the worst week ever lol

11 days out from the best sb matchup in a LONG time, and we aren't talking about it.

I wish there was consistency. If they're gonna throw dirt on our franchise, they should do that to the bucs and packers who did the same thing, and then the other 29 teams who all have players with PEDs. Either breaking any rule means your franchise is a joke, or it's not a big deal. people have to choose.

imo, you should be able to have however much air in the ball as you want. if you want it only half inflated, go for it. good luck. if you want it so it almost pops every time someone catches it, go for it. that makes it a level playing field, too.

I agree..too many are way to sensitive and care more about legacy and what not. I watch sports for the entertainment of the game. We all have a choice..too listen to the noise and feel down OR ignore the crap and enjoy the Super Bowl.

That may be the penalty for the Pats but count on the POS sticking it to BB. I wouldn't be surprised if he is suspended for a number of games next season

I have to be done posting on this topic it is depressing. see ya.

Hey RSD, yeh you. Why don't you man up and tell why you disagree, coward. Seems like all you been doing is trolling this thread and disliking or disagreeing with folks post, tell us why. Or just go away. I don't click and run, I'm man enough to explain myself. Nice work.

Knowingly submitting those balls under-inflated, is still against league rules though. So if he knew the team does this, laughing it off does him no justice.

No way. It's not worth more than a $25k fine.

I would love to agree, but the whole media circus and repeat offender thing will give the league no choice but to make an example.

Considering the fact that people are proposing that the league disqualify the Pats from the Super Bowl and ban Belichick anywhere from a year to life; a 2nd round pick really is child's play.
