Weird. In my office I have Jets and Giants fans, and most of them are saying "this all about air in footballs ? Gimme a ****in break". Meaning they think Deflategate is a joke. One of my coworkers thinks this is complete ******** and is showing me articles he's finding ripping apart deflategate, and he's a GIANT'S fan !! So basically the only grief I'm getting is seeing the local papers.
This is true. Surprisingly, a friend of mine who has been most dismissive of the whole scandal is a Jets fan. The friend who has been the worst is also a Jets fan though. Luckily, when he would try and pick a fight on gchat, I just blocked him...

So. What happens if we win the Super Bowl.

What Gate will be next? The They-are-good-so-they-must've-done-something-wrong-so-we'll-find-a-way-to-ruin-this-for-the-Patriots-gate??

I would be like the iphone yahoos n wait in line 4 days4 that book
If I'm being honest, I'd still just order it off amazon. But I'd take the day off work to read it. Just to troll everyone he should title it "Why I Bought Aaron Hernandez a Safehouse"

I can't believe the amount of people on this thread who are ready to leave being a Pats fan and would rather the team lost Sunday. LIke I said before I don't care what other teams fans think or say. Pats will be in 8th Super Bowl, I for one am going to enjoy it.

Scoreboardgate. The Pats will be found to have put the wrong scores at home for the opposing team on the scoreboard allowing the pats to have an impressive home victory streak.

And hopefully win number 4.

You have to admit though at this moment it's pretty much impossible avoiding without shutting off your electricity.

Hopefully in a few days we will be able to come to a conclusion on this and yet still get to enjoy the upcoming game.

I find it crazy that the NFL is not acknowledging anything. Nothing on NFL.com. Nothing on the Patriots' or Seahawks websites or Twitters. Nothing on NFL.com. Meanwhile NBC's Sunday Night Football Twitter is making it into a big joke. This really is the Twilight Zone.

Isn't it obvious. He ordered someone to deflate 12 footballs on the sidelines in front of 7o,ooo people and 100 cameras S/O

The more probable explanation is the Ref who checked the balls let them slide thru because its not that big of a deal.
This really does seem like the obvious explanation. I know the NFL and fans like to think procedures are followed by robots, but rather than mission impossible deflation shenanigans, it's much more likely refs spot check a few balls and unless they're onviously out they just mark them and move on to more important things.

"Meanwhile NBC's Sunday Night Football Twitter is making it into a big joke."

thats the exact reason this is all BS

Yeah, like say the score was 28-7. Scoreboard operators accidentally forget to put up extra point. So score is 28-6.

Next Day Front Page News: PATRIOTS ALLEGEDLY PAY SCOREBOARD OFFICIALS, ENSUING EXTRA-POINT-GATE.

If we lose "Haha, you didn't have your deflated footballs"

If we win "You cheated to get there!"

I just want this **** to be fully solved tomorrow.

It's not as easy as it sounds,
plus rules about the ball boys:

The referee "shall be the sole judge as to whether all balls offered for play comply with these specifications" and the balls "remain under the supervision of the Referee until they are delivered to the ball attendant just prior to the start of the game," according to Rule 2, Section 1.
/

For me, if that is actually the rule as stated, this is huge.

IF this were an actual statute, that would be interpreted as providing the referee the authority to deem a non-spec complying ball as de-facto compliant. This would make the referee the final arbiter on whether a ball complies or not, notwithstanding the listed specifications.

In my view (and a legally trained view at that), any lawyer would make this argument successfully, and explains WHY it is OK for Aaron Rodgers to laugh about hoping refs don't catch overinflated balls on inspection. Think this becomes even more important as more information comes to light showing how unlikely tampering after measurement would be.

Edit: Hows that for laywer made rules Ray Lewis?

Yeah, as much as I'm reading 14 different websites and hitting refresh at this forum constantly, I don't see any change in how I'm going to enjoy the game once it starts (barring, of course, some grossly negligent attempt by the NFL to suspend someone for the game). As supafly said, just here to complain and speculate with everyone else in lieu of any actual news on the situation to absorb.
