Rodney: this will only motivate pats

I really don't know. This is pretty distracting but it can do one of two things:

(1) Distract us so badly that we fail.

(2) Serves as extreme motivation to win. If this were the case, I feel sorry for the Hawks. I would bet a lot that we win if not dominate.

We're going to win the Super Bowl. Write that down, quote me sig me whatever. More confident than 07.

More confident than 07? Are you saying you were confident in 07 that we were going to win?
Doesn't that devalue how much confidence you put into this team's chances at victory?
In fact, I'd rather you not be confident this team will win this superbowl, then I"d be more confident we would actually win it.

Like I said before I think this is pure motivation as well. You think we cheated to win? Ok! Verify the psi of the balls on tv and then we will stomp on Seattle. No more deflate gate BS.
maybe this was BBs plan all along...hmmmmm, genius!

I have to admit as awful as this has all been, The Super Bowl is gonna be entertaining. The whole world will be rooting against the Pats. I can't even imagine the reaction to a Pats win. Would be worthy of a few good laughs.

The only thing I can compare this too is the greatest team in the history of professional sports, the Auerbach, Russel Celtics. Auerbach was always accused of turning up the heat, setting fire alarms in hotels , basically everything in the world and you know how it affected the Celtics? Not at all. It affected the opposition, because they got all worked up about imaginary stuff and auerbach never denied anything, he just lit up a big cigar and laughed.

When you are the winningest team in football history over a decade and a half, the losers are going to come after you off the field, because their balls are the ones lacking when it comes to the big game.

Like Rodney said, our championship teams would have reveled in this. Time for the leaders to step up and use this.

I agree with Rodney. See my post in the Sherman thread.

I think the SB is in the bag. I'm so sure I'm putting a grand on them and I've never bet that much. This is exactly the sort of scenario that brings out the 'go for the jugular' in this team. It won't even be close.

Even if we win, we still lose (if found guilty of tampering with the footballs). This sucks a heavy one. This was suppose to be our next and possibly LAST chance to erase the taint of Spygate... instead, it's been doubled. FML.

Yeah. I doubt the Pats lose this one, as good as the Seahawks are. I kinda feel bad for Seattle. The wrong week to draw the Pats.

Yeah I'm probably going to lay down $800-$1,000 on them. I'll more than likely bet a grand if the Seahawks start squawking during media day.

Silly.

We have a very good chance to win this one IMO. Even with all that has gone on. Us against world.

Well if we win...we win..so..

....what? Are you thinking of 2006-07...?

You worry too much about perception. A lot of fans here do this week. I laugh at spy gate comments and defend and attack back. I scoff at deflate gate. I could give a rats ass what people think of my team and I truly mean that. Every team has warts in their history and ours is no different. They hate because they are envious and relish in this little piddly ball thing. If Bill Belichick was fired or stepped down tomorrow there would be threads on 30 other teams message boards discussing should they fire their own coach and replace him with Belichick. I guarantee it. Why? Because they believe he could get them to the promised land. They associate BB as a cheater because he is not their coach but they also know he is a winner and would do a 180 with that association if he was introduced as their coach.

Enjoy the ride, I'm hoping to see some good threads by some of the good posters after this weekend discussing strategy and the game itself. It sucks this has taken away from should be a fun week but it could be worse. We could be watching Manning or Luck playing the Seahags next Sunday. Let the media have their fun.

Well if we win...we win..so..

Really wish I could make myself feel that way. Hopefully by kickoff the sting wears off and I can enjoy it as much as I should. But at the moment it's hard to feel good about this crap.
