originally thats what i thought. Now its just ********

Actually, I'd say the idea that this SB would have shut people up is BS. After all, we're still talking about the Squealers using steroids, and that was, what, 30+ years ago?

I want an apology from the NFL after they find that this was all just a bunch of hogwash

minds have already been made up here. A lot of folk are not for turning.

Question for you guys. What if a team wanted to have under-inflated balls and found a way to fill the balls with air such that the pressure was a valid 12.5 psi before the game and dropped to 10.5 psi by half-time, and there was no tampering with the balls after the referees inspected them?

Is that creative, or is that cheating? Specific examples follow.

1) What if instead of room temperature, the Patriots fill the empty skins with hot air (or in a very hot room) just prior to handing them off to the official. The leather does not get hot, but the hot air expands and increases the pressure significantly. The balls are measured to be 12.7 psi at 2.5 hours before the game. In actuality, the balls only have enough air for 11.5 psi under regular indoor conditions, and with the cold weather, the ball drops to 10.5 psi by half-time 5 hours later (2 psi below the minimum). Is this creative? Or it is cheating?

2) What if the Patriots do the opposite, and refrigerate the balls (or apply a coating that prevents the leather from stretching). They inflate them with very warm air. The leather is not fully stretched at the time, and the pressure is 12.7 psi exactly 2.5 hours before the game. In actuality, the balls only have enough air for 11.5 psi under regular indoor conditions, and drop to 10.5 psi by half-time 5 hours later (2psi below the minimum) as the leather expands and the temperature drops. Is this creative? Or is it cheating?

As I have written before I am pretty sure this is what happened. Since the rules dont state anything about the environment I dont see how any of it can be considered cheating (i.e. breaking the rules).

Expect rule changes in the offseason.

I was beginning to worry that deflate-gate would be a distraction, but this makes me happy.

For my 2cents Blount scored 3 rushing touchdowns. He could've carried a beach ball. Also doesn't hurt we only gave up 7 points #inflatethis

This will be a huge distraction if no decision is made until after the superbowl. Its gonna be a hectic next week when they arrive in arizona.

I want a damn decision now!!! Kraft should demand it!!!The game is an afterthought at the moment

I can stand the butt hurt crowd though. It's not anything we're not used to. Just as long as they don't get to have a full logical reason to be butt hurt and I'm good.

One will very likely be made by tomorrow or Friday.

How can 11 balls be deflated by exactly 2PSI. Something is not right about that leak.

Who cares? Its a distraction for you and other fans maybe. The noise doesn't seem to affect the team though. Thats the only thing that's important.

This is really what it boils down to for me. This is not fair to the fans. We should not have to put up with this BS. If its found out that belichick deliberately did this I'm done defending him. This was completely uncalled for, unneeded, and I'm not going out of my way to defend cheating. I'm so fed up with this crap.

The issue isn't even that it was "cheating" as i said in a previous threa; Aaron Rogers came out and blatantly said he sneaks over inflated balls through past the refs and no one has said $h!t about it.

It's just the fact we are going through this again at a time we should be celebrating.

While I was driving today I remembered that there was a story earlier in the season about a big "riff" between TFB and BB. I wasn't sure if it was "mort" who started it so I asked my best friend Google, and sure enough it was.

It turned out to be not true, so why is everyone, including me, getting their panties in a bunch about a single story from this guy?

The Rodgers deal. He over inflates; hoping to get it past the officials. That's an attempt at cheating. What's the diff? This whole deal is laughable.

F the haters. This SB will be over at halftime.

Yes, here's a little tidbit from this article:
Two sources told ESPN that former rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was drafted as Brady's successor and the move could happen "sooner than later."
****ing idiot. So much for his magical "sources".

The difference is that doesn't break a rule that says "No one shall alter the footballs in any way after they have been given to the officials."

Neither does filling the balls with hot air right before the ref inspects them.

This is only a story because it's the Patriots. Further to the point, it appears the Patriots clobbered the Colts 28-0 in the second half with regulation footballs opposed to 17-7 with under-inflated footballs. If anything, the deflated footballs worked against them.

Right now, this is becoming absurd and the more NFL people speaking out against it in support of the Patriots for it being a non-story is driving my disdain for the situation.

Do we even know where the Patriots inflated the balls? People keep saying they put inflated the balls inside instead of outside and because of the temperature drop, it caused the balls to lose pressure. How is this the first time that it's happened? It's been far colder on numerous occasions of Patriots football. Hell, it wasn't even that cold on Sunday. Why would they choose this game specifically to inflate the balls with hot air unless this is standard practice and the only reason anyone cares is because of the subsequent beatdown the Colts took.
