What would you like him to be doing right now?
Stick up for his organization, the players, and especially the fans and give a retort to the franchise being attacked by the media in all directions (even internationally). Of course if we are indeed guilty then I'm not too surprised by the silence.

The high for the game was 51 degrees. The low for the game was between 46-47 degrees, and that obviously occurred at the end.

There really doesn't seem to be much temp change here, unfortunately.

What was the wind chill?

The room Temp where the balls measure could have been 85 ..or the Pats maybe had the balls in a 100 F room before they gave them to refs .

Reminds me of Mr Smith goes to Washington,,,Irsay owns the press and feeds the info he wants. Come on Jimmy ;)

This is trending the wrong way and the silence if deafening .

Reports now (not official so don't know what to make)

1) Balls were verified before the game.
2) Balls used second half were not the under-inflated balls. NFL collected them and stored them
3) #2 leads me to believe they tested them at some point after the game in a warm environment again
4) Colts balls were also collected and found to be in compliance
5) Sounds like the NFL has both the Colts and Pats balls.

Again, this it the rumor mill but it's not trending the way fans wanted. This is the scenario I feared.

why is shannon sharpe talking?
didnt the broncos cheat the salary cap? #douchebag

For whatever is worth, here is the general opinion so far on the issue. From ESPN, at least.

Only fans over 60% are Washington (Seahawks) and Indiana (Colts) fans, as well as fans in Nevada (no idea which fans dominate the area). Surprised to see NY and Ohio fans at 51% only.

But whatever, the fact that some people think Patriots' success is tarnished for this, before reaching a final report on the investigation, speaks to volume how serious should we even take their opinion.

Agreed. Most of the states in favor of the Patriots success are states with no football team or New England states. Winning ain't easy after all.

Even if the NFL finds the smoking gun that proves the charge, they still have major issues with their own processes and practice. It is unlikely that they will prohibit personalization of game balls to suit QB requirements, so they will need to improve the protocols for inspecting, maintaining and removing game balls. This will place a larger onus on the referees, and it will do little to placate the lynch mob. I do expect some punishment, but given the grey areas of accountability, any draconian penalty may invoke an appeal and more public scrutiny.

One improvement to current rules may be to extend the window of permissible PSI (say 1 psi at either end), and have a tolerance factor built in for cold and wet weather.

I also hope someone with common sense in the league will point out that most advantages from varying pressures of football are commonly accompanied by offsetting disadvantages. If a soft ball is easier to grip and catch, it is also easier to intercept, especially as it is more likely to float. Conversely a hard ball is harder to grip, and travels further, but is harder to catch and intercept. Swings and roundabouts comes to mind.

Where did you hear #2?

What was the wind chill?

I'm sorry, but I really don't know.

I'm just speaking of the small window of temp change that some here posted from official weather sources that listed it hourly.

While the weather may have had some effect on the deflation, I don't believe it's anything close to what some are suggesting. It also doesn't answer the fact that Indy's balls were fine--supposedly.

The important thing is the under inflated balls were removed at half time. Proper balls were put in and the Pats played with proper ones from then on. Statistically, Brady had his best stats in the second half. The Pats also scored most of their points in the second half.

Perhaps it would have benefited the Colts more if they had kept the under inflated balls in for the second half.

That would be the case if the balls were filled and tested with 51 degree air.

But even the critics of the Weather Could Play a Part theory all agree that it is perfectly reasonable to expect that the footballs were tested with normal room temperature air of 70 degrees.

The difference between 70 and 45 is enough to account for significant psi loss.

The psi loss is even more if the footballs were initially filled with air warmer than 70 degrees.

I am sick of hearing about it.I am just pissed at the thought that bb might have known. Why risk all the controversy against a team you could handled.Belichick has some explaining to do with kraft

Is this seriously going to go another day with no official report or confirmation?

mort said the reports will be out soon and by soon they mean 1 in the morning!:D

The ravens players would make anything up at this point. They wanna take away everything from our win

So at halftime the balls are stored in the Officials locker. So the only time the Pats could deflate them would be on the sidelines.... seems very risky. especially if the colts say they used deflated balls in Indy. So if it was done it had to be the ball boys( with orders from whoever) . Cant be that hard to get vid evidence with so many cameras .

Wait, what did the colts say about using deflated balls in Indy?
