Whether it's true or not, if people don't like to hear negative stuff about the Pats, don't listen, watch, or read the negative stuff. It really is that simple.

We are still going to play in the SB.

People will hate this team no matter what.

BB will still push the envelope to get an advantage irrespective of what comes out of this.

But someone might get fined!

if we lose, " we cant win without cheating "...but if we win, we cheated.

as fans we lose either way. lol

It blows having to listen to all of these reports and analysis, based on some leaks rather than just basking in the rear-whooping of the Colts and looking forward to seeing the Pats in another Super Bowl.

Assuming
the reports are correct, that 11 out of 12 balls were 2 psi below the allowable limit, getting each ball 2 psi below without a pressure gauge is darn near impossible. It wasn't someone just sitting there with a needle in the ball, letting air out. And it sure didn't happen on the sideline, behind the bench and under a towel with all the cameras present.

Leads me to think there was an issue with the pre-game testing of the balls by the referee crew. Of course, that's as much speculation on my part as every other part of this story. It will be interesting to see what the full report says.

So, it appears the Pats will be found at fault and fined. The rule book starts at 25k and some of the more crazy folks (Sterling Sharpe) are calling for 1 mil, 1st rounder, BB suspended for a year. What do you think we are talking about here.
The Vikings got a warning letter. But that's the Vikings, not a winning franchise.
Will we be punished for being a good team?
Will we be punished for a new scandal?
We all know Goodell is unstable and just goes the way the wind blows. He could go full blown wrath of god, or he could use kid gloves to not embarrass a Super Bowl team right before the game.
I personally think that it will be wrath of god, time to show his strength and we will be without BB for half of next season. This

why would belichick do this?? lol

and now brady looks like a fool for laughing this off.

Some of this doesn't make sense. If the refs checked the balls at halftime and found them to be deficient, did they still use them in the second half??? If they did use them why didn't they correct them? They make players change uniforms or cleats if found to be deficient, why not equipment like a football. And if they did reinflate the balls, it certainly didn't hurt the PAts as they outscored Indy 28-0 in the second half.

If the Colts alerted the league after the November game about suspicions, why didn't the league take extra precautions to check the ball before the game and only during???? Seems like negligence on leaue's part.

I hope so but I thought the same thing with Spygate and it still lives on after 7 years.

It does but not like it was. If Pats win now, this will replace it and then just go away.

Adam Schefter seems to be on our side. Hasn't tweeted anything against us, and retweeted Matt Leinarts tweet defending us in this.

In case you haven't noticed, basically every Patriots player who's commented has laughed this off. Brady. GRONK. Minitron's T shirt.* Browner.

*I'm sure it was a complete coincidence that Minitron wore a T-shirt with a double-barreled one-finger salute. . . .

If the NFL is so concerned with the "integrity" of the game why do they allow a set of balls for the home team, another set for the away team and another set for the kicking game? Why not 50 balls supplied by the league set to the NFL's standards?
It almost seems as though they were allowing teams to "bend" the rules to suit each QB.

Simple. Because the league probably doesn't think it is a big deal. QB's have probably been roughing up balls for decades. This would be a non story if it didn't involve the pats.

His precept was Brady being suspended for the SB, in which case Patriot fans wouldn't be laughing, and as I said I wouldn't watch the game and doubt I would ever again invest the time to bother following an NFL season again. I wouldn't see the point when all we end up with is this garbage. There are plenty of other things I could be doing and I would probably devote my time to those things.

Ivan,
I've been obsessed with the Pats for decades but were Goodell to suspend Brady I would be laughing and ignore the SB. A league that let Suh play after the far more serious infraction and suspends Brady is a joke and not worth following. Bring it on Roger!

I just want to know who gave the order...kind of like a Few Good Men. Did you order the balls to be deflated??!? I want the TRUTH!!!

Belichick wants to tell the truth he thinks he is smarter than everyone! LOL

The way this is shaping up is that the only way we could make it out ok would be for NFL to make a statement that all balls were properly inspected pre-game (check) and when all balls were check both Pats and Colts balls dropped in psi, the Colts were initially inflated on the high side (13.5 psi) so after being exposed to colder air (about 70 indoor to about 50 outdoor) remained within acceptable range. While the Pats balls, inflated on the low side and when exposed to colder air dropped below acceptable 12.5 psi...and the drops in psi were similar.

Anything other than that and we are pretty much dead in the water with the entire season tainted...and we will never hear the end of it.

BTW I don't believe that anyone has pointed out the fact that there is no rule about the balls remaining between 12.5 psi and 13.5 psi, just that they have to be pumped to this level prior to the game and not manipulated by the team.

They wont suspend Brady. The players union would go ballistic.

If Brady or Belichick were suspended for the Super Bowl over this, the Pats should refuse to take the field. Tank the entire event.

Pretty much everyone is laughing this off. Even people who want the Patriots to get hammered admit that it's a silly situation that didn't make a difference in the game.

Mark Brunnell is talking the same crap Steve Young and company did during 2007 . Creating stories and how it benefits without thinking.

They would need to prove Brady was aware of the measurements. "I like softer balls" is not enough to get Brady in trouble. It's the guy with the needle who is going down. If things go down as Mort and the like are speculating, some poor equipment manager or ball boy who is being what probably the bulk of them are taught to do is about to be looking for a job.

Brady might take a beating in the court of public opinion, but unless the facts are considerably different from what we know now (which again is LITTLE), I don't see how he can face any punishment.
