Why is it that no one has figured out that wet leather and laces under internal pressure will STRETCH increasing VOLUME and decreasing internal PRESSURE.......with lower temps....not one of these professional lip wagers has the capacity to understand this...

could be, they should do a scientific test before they hang someone.

speaking of a stetch...this is very far-fetched. let's use common sense people. It wasn't the air temps, the rain or even aliens that caused the deflation.

obviously the only stretch is you trying to wrap your mind around those fact...

Science is science. This is a little like idiocracy. If the ball is measured at a lower temperature due to cold and rain, its pressure will decrease. How much? How much will other factors, ie leather shrinking etc play into it?

Give them all lie detector tests. Whatever, do a scientific experiment. Not that difficult. Would take a couple hours.

Just use science before they lynch is all I'm saying.

did we really need ANOTHER thread on this? This post wouldn't have fit into one of the other 15 threads going on about this?

End of the day they need both the Pats and Colts game balls to check for differences, and do an analysis on psi/weight reaction to the situation presented on Sunday (inside/outside temps, wet conditions). It's the only way to really analyze whether a drop from X (weighed before-hand; and X could be 13.5 for Colts, 12.5 for Pats for all we know) and Y (readings taken during halftime).

I'm not holding out much hope the weather excuse holds much water but it HAS to be looked into before any report and possible penalty is released.

Could be a bunch of things including foul play. Why the NFL didn't just keep it under wraps and send out a team to double check the whole procedure from refs to ball attendants is beyond me, because no post game pressure analysis will tell us if anyone from refs to equipment managers are the weak link.

I would have submitted balls of various levels of inflation to the refs also to see if they ever caught them. Obviously if they cared they could have checked those procedures after Rodgers comments. They care because of hype.

The Colts had 12 balls also.

Blame Bob Kravitz.
