B-but this is an ENTIRELY different case. Unlike the Pats, the Bucs won in a blowout!

Think about this for a moment.........the balls are 'adjusted', then used on the field.......in plain sight, refs handle the balls every play.....every game.....they're catching it, rolling it around in their hands, wiping it down, putting it back at the LOS for the next play. 150 or so times every game......It's not something you could even call covert, it is so out in the open.

Then you have the process of handing out the balls so that the teams can 'fix' them to their liking.....are the refs NOT told what the ball should feel like or is this matter much smaller in reality than the jackass media is making out to be?

I honestly think its stupid for teams to 'have their own balls'

What was that ? I missed it and can't find it in this small thread ;)

"Yet to be determined is what, if any, penalties may be imposed upon Patriots. One source described the league as "disappointed ... angry ... distraught," after spending considerable time on the findings earlier Tuesday."

Can also include Packers, Vikings, Panthers to the list

Ah, OK, thanks. Yeah that didn't sound great.

The pregnant question is: who are they disappointed, angry and distraught about, the Patriots, the officials or themselves? I'll give ya one guess...

Thats between me and him and none of your god damn business

And playing by the same rules everyone else has to. And if you get caught you have pay the piper just like in real life.
.
You made it public moron. That's on YOU! That bet was made with fggsand and you said you'd post the reciept. Post #109. You made it everyones god damn buisness. Put your money where your mouth is.

As far as playing by the same rules crap, in real life NO ONE plays by the same rules. Ever heard of favoritism? Nepotism? It's rampant in regular society.

Get a clue.

If what NE did was submit under-inflated balls to the refs in the hopes the refs didn't thoroughly test them and they'd slip through (i.e. what Rogers has admitted the Packers do in the opposite direction), or did something a bit sneakier (like inflating to 12.5 PSI with warm/hot air), I'm OK with that. And if Goodell tries to punish NE with anything more than a fine I want Kraft to tell Goodell that's total BS and that he'll forfeit the game unless the punishment is changed to be more in line with the "crime" (which wouldn't actually be against any rule).

I also note that since P2 = (T2/T1) * P1 (where P and T are absolute pressures and temps), a drop from 70F to 50F would mean about a 1.1 PSI drop. So if the NFL tries to punish based only on the balls being measured 1.5 PSI too low at halftime, I again want Kraft to go nuclear with the league.

But if the league actually does have evidence of the balls being messed with post-checkin (skullduggery on sideline, breaking into ball storage room after checkin, whatever), then I am done with Belichick and want Kraft to fire him. What's the point of having a coach that leads the team to wins when you can't enjoy the wins?

Completely agree with this stance...I couldn't sleep last night, stayed up for hours reading on here and other places the tweets and info and whatnot. As a fan of this team it should piss EVERYONE off, either:
1. this is common practice, Rodgers has openly admitted he does the same thing, the panthers were doctoring balls on the sidelines, during a game, in front of a camera, after they had been warned, and STILL no league discipline or media outcry. If the refs just weren't checking and this is common practice the Patriots and ex-Patriots and local media and anyone who cares about this team should be rallying, finding any and all info on team practices and getting this info in the public domain, tell Goodell to F off because the league made this mess.
2. this ISN'T common practice and Belichick just cannot be trusted to run an honest program. Cameragate was overblown madness, they didn't deserve the penalties or the league-wide scorn. This time? I don't care what the benefit is on the field this would be blatant, systemic cheating and unacceptable. The players should be pissed for disgracing all their hard work, the fans should be pissed for tarnishing the reputation of their favorite team.

One of those two situations will play out...I'm praying like hell #1 happened, in which case we need scorched F'n earth from Kraft and everyone in the organization pushing back on an inept, pathetically run league. If #2 happens I'm avoiding all sports talk until the Sox start up because there's no way I can enjoy the SB with this kind of info out there.

Gotta be #1...

A new day and I'm still feeling sick. The League better release a statement sometime today and end this rampant speculation. I'm just ready to know one way or the other and get it over with. If the Refs didn't actually measure I can only hope Walt Anderson is a stand up guy and admits that he screwed it up.

Like I said, they will protect the officials at all costs even if it was their mistake. This will all be on the Pats.

Unfortunately as we saw in the filming incident seven years ago, the 'everybody does it' response will fall on deaf ears in both the court of public opinion as well as with Herr Kommissar.

And only dumb ass footy pajama boy know nothing mo mo like yourself who doesn't have the IQ or personal integrity to think otherwise would disagree with me.
Any Questions??

This dumb ass footy pajama boy was one of n those who maintained that this was still a very good team, that the bad start was an aberration, that they had signed the top free agent on the market and would be one of the best teams in football when all was said and done. So tell us who wssvright about them?

Do you really want to go down the road regarding who was right and who was dead wrong about this team? If you do I will happily destroy you. You f.cking crybabies have been calling the Patriots dead for years and routinely refer to those of us who believe in them as homers and footy pajama wearing yet somehow never take any ownership of the fact that you are dead wrong about them year in and out and that the homers are in fact right on the money in their claims about how good they are. So heres my suggestion for you.... Shut Your Ignorant Pie hole.

At the end of the day, it's just football. You shouldn't be losing sleep or stressing out about this man.

The NFL and/or the Patriots need to make a statement today. They can't let this continue to fester without any comment.
