Correction.....:they are the MOST HATED TEAM in the history of sports.....even more than how much the Romans despised the Greeks in the earliest Olympics! There were Rumors that Caeser put notches in the wheels of the Greeks Horse cart to slow it down.....but Rogero Godelius could never prove it

Ill say it again - the game wa 45-7.

It's embarrassing that everyone is so up-in-arms about this. It was the first thing on 'The Lead' this morning on Sportscenter and the first thing Mike & Mike addressed, as well.

Pats are the most hated team in the modern NFL - no surprise everyone and their mother is using this as an excuse to attempt to tarnish their legacy. Stop comparing this to 'spygate', it's absolutely absurd.

Here's an article of Eli doctoring his footballs for months. Clear NFL violation as your only allowed to rub it for 45 minutes. Where's the outrage here?? Oh wait, that's right it's a non story made into a story because it's the Patriots.
Right on the money. As Curran just said by phone on CSNNE, 31 teams will can doctor the ball and get the benefit of the doubt, but the Patriots can't because of their reputation, deserved or undeserved.

Not sure I agree. Unfortunately, everyone is calling it a "cheating" scandal. It was the lead on the local news here in Houston this morning

Well if the patriots purposely deflated the balls it is a cheating scandal. Cheating is wrong no matter how much you win by. Investigation is still ongoing. I can only hope that the patriots aren't found guilty of purposely deflating the balls.

There was no way the league doesn't do something to the Pats. It doesn't matter that Rogers does it. It won't matter if other teams admit or are rumored to have done it. What sucks is in those cases is the world is willing to just look the other way. Then they'll look for some kind of moral high ground claiming that Rogers did it before the game started, not after as if stealing money out of the cash register before a business opens is different then doing it after it opens. The league probably feels they have to come down hard on them to help heal the wounds they got over Ray Rice and to feed more meat to the haters I'm a passionate Pats fan and I'm sick to my stomach right now. This has ruined my passion for the game right now. Even if the Pats win the Superbowl, right now I can't see how I will enjoy it all that much.....may even not renew my season tickets. I don't know if this will ever be fun again.

I tell you what really pisses me off today. The NFL is doing an "investigation". The investigation is not over but somehow the partial story gets leaked to the press. So, until the full "investigation" is over, everyone runs with partial information and draws conclusions based on the leaked information.

No matter what the ultimate findings are, the ones who hate the Patriots will take this little leaked nugget and use it for years to come. F the NFL and their "investigation".

Goodell should start another investigation to find out who leaked this partial information and fire their ass on the spot.

True that, why release partial findings to a secondary source late at night??

So the story can be spun anyway they want in the morning news cycles??

Makes no sense to me.. their investigations are a sham.

ESPN says the NFL is angry and distraught over their preliminary findings. brace yourselves folks. It's not going to end well.

Expecting Goodell to destroy the balls and take two first round picks.

The report did not specify with WHOM they are angry and distraught.

It could be the officials if protocols were not followed.

Brady prefers to throw with footballs that are lower in PSI.

It was rainy.

It's all but a guarantee that the Patriots submitted 11 footballs at 12.5 psi and a kicking ball at 13.5 psi. It's just common sense.

Experts have shown that with the Gay-Lussac Law, a 20 degree drop in temperature, from a 70 degree room to a 50 degree playing field will result in a 1.5 to 1.75 drop in PSI for the footballs.

Thats exactly the results we are seeing here.

That 11 of these footballs were the exact same PSI tells my common sense that we are talking about Mother Nature here, not a sneaky ballboy with a needle and a couple extra hundred dollar bills in his pocket.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I have a new truck with 20 inch tires with gauges built into them. The psi should be 39 but that is when the tires are warm. In the morning the psi is always down 2 to 3 psi. As for the 12th ball it could have been over inflated.

We need more facts

They better not come down hard after Rodgers just admitted everyone else does it. They should check the colts balls Luck probably does it too.

Perception is reality. This is not good news for the organization and the fans. Most unfortunate.
If I'm arguing semantics, then I'd say I disagree. LOL But I'm not.

Exactly. True or false, fact or fiction, knowingly or not, this just does not look good for the organization from a PR aspect. This SB victory (if it were) was supposed to be the one that validated them and I think, at least in very small part, would finally shut the people up saying how the Pats haven't won anything since Spygate. As false as we all know that is, it's still the perception.

I guess if I'm being honest, whether I get destroyed for saying it, I feel somewhat disappointed, even with the understanding that more needs to be said on the matter. The sheer fact that it's 11 of 12 just doesn't look or, more importantly to me, feel right. I can't say that I wouldn't be suspicious just a bit if I were not a Pats fan, even if I was not part of the population that despises them. A SB win just shines a brighter light on this story and a SB loss validates everyone in the world that hates this team. We can all say screw 'em all day and I'm sure we all will, but I think part of winning the SB is about being able to really say screw 'em. But what good is that if the perception will always be how they cheated to win all of their championships?

That is the problem with this whole mess. Take one fact and extrapolate from a single point, filling in the rest with rules and speculation. It feels like this garbage was scripted to fill in the pre-Pro Bowl stories for the media. Then close it out the day before the game and move on to the Super Bowl headlines the week before the game.

All well and good, except the Patriots are playing the role of the pinata at this party and we get to listen to all the negative crap until the decision.

I don't get it a lot of this should be on the refs don't they check every ball and mark them before every game? How do they miss that on 11 out of 12 balls?

I'd agree with almost all of this except that I don't feel the league coming down hard on the Pats, if that is what is to happen, will have as much to do with Ray Rice as it will that this will have been the second "cheating" scandal that NE will have been linked to and many people feel the punishment for the first one was too light in the first place. Like it or not, Spygate was already going to be talked about forever and ever and now this?

So, like you, I am sick to my stomach this morning as well. I was prepared to go into work for the first time since Sunday with a defiant stroll (only Pats fan in the office). Now, I don't know how to feel. I can still have the defiant stroll, but is that how I really feel? I just don't know. If I'm being honest, I'm a bit disappointed. I don't know how you ignore 11 of 12.
