That's ridiculous. There is no way they will have the Pats forfeit the SB. What would they do, skip it altogether? Or have a team that got destroyed the previous week play in it instead of us?

Belichick being suspended for all of 2015 is a possibility though.

Have to agree. There is precedent....ask Sean Payton.

Is not not possible that a ball would lose 2 PSI when subject to an NFL game in the cold?

The Patriots supplied the Patriots ball boy.

Another league problem. League needs to control all variables and let the teams be responsible for playing.

No team should be allowed to supply any game equipment or be responsible for any game equipment that is standardized.

Ask the team their preference for the specifications, the league applies them, and the league controls them.

If you even need to do as much. Personally I say everyone plays with and kicks with the same balls.

League will have to prove the Pats balls were not sabotaged .

I would say I'm interested in how Belichick responds to this, but he'll just answer questions in the same way he always does and find a sentence to repeat over and over.
He basically needs to come out and outright say those are the balls they submitted to the officials at the start of the game and they didn't alter them or touch them at all during play. If he can say that IMO they are in the clear.

If he equivocates or they have proof (do the refs log PSI before the game?) then he's in big trouble.

EVERYONE MUST BE CALM
COACH BELICHIK WILL NOT BE FIRED OR SUSPEND
PATRIOTS WILL USE STUPID CRITIC AS MOTIVATION AND DESTROY SEAHAWK. MAYBE WE GET FINE. WHO CARES? JUST SOME UNDER INFLATED BALLS. NFL FAULT FOR NOT CHECKING. AARON ROGER DO AS WELL.

I applaud you Dikembe, but I'm afraid not even your great optimism and fandom can lift our spirits at the moment. We're at the mercy of the NFL

Also lost in all of this the following.

If weather is the culprit, was the colts balls also confiscated?

If not, why not?

Since they snitched out the pats, they could of easily changed their balls to proper inflation anyway.

If the pats are docked a pick, fined, belechick suspended for the super bowl then kraft needs to SUE the nfl and frankly forfeit the super bowl.

I'd rather give up the chance to play in the super bowl then allow my coach and team be humiliated by thst scum Goodell one more time, especially in THIS season where he should of been fired 5 months ago.

This 4th win will be discredited guys, we have to deal with that.

Maybe next year we can win a SB and hope we don't get called cheaters.

Probably, but I don't even care.

With the entire NFL fan base hating us right now and wanting us to get destroyed, it would be incredibly satisfying to win and rub it in their face. Even if they discredit it.

No f&cks given.

Sadly, if anyone is responsible it's probably Brady. Why would belichick under inflate balls without his quarterbacks consent...?

1. Not hanging anyone. I'm not calling for anyone to be maimed or fired. Just saying Belichick needs to stop pushing the damn rules, particularly the off field ones.https://twitter.com/jeffphowe/status/557750157614522368

If he stops "pushing the damn rules", I want him fired immediately. If it's legal, it's legal. Pushing the rules is not the same as breaking them.

2. The actual report isn't even necessary anymore. Our reputation is once again sullied for no good reason. Regardless of the report.

The actual report is all that matters. The rest is nothing but the wind through the reeds.

I mean.. did the pats need to use under inflated balls the 3 previous times they best the colts by over 20 points?

Did they use under inflated balls against the ravens and they didn't snitch?

Do they always do this cause everyone does this and the colts had sour grapes?

Honestly, if the REFS didn't notice, why is it a big deal?
Because it's us.

Because there's a black and white rule saying no one can screw with the footballs after they are handed in to the refs before the game.

Except the refs handle the balls more than anyone?

If they can't tell the difference then I'd like to know how it's a factor at all.

A fully inflated ball weighs less than a pound. The difference is ounces, not pounds. The unit of measurement here is PSI. ESPN made this mistake as well. Trust me, QBs are not heaving 13 pound balls 50 yards downfield. Have you ever picked up a football? how much do you think it weighs? I can easily see a non anal retentive ref not giving 2 u-knows.

Okay, maybe the weight isn't the issue. The different in the softness of a ball that is 13 PSI and 11 PSI is significant.

Once again, I'm not passing the blame off the Pats. This is absolutely a Belichick type tactic.

Because there's a black and white rule saying no one can screw with the footballs after they are handed in to the refs before the game.

Of course, as we learned today, the Vikings and Titans screwed with footballs during games this year, and the NFL didn't care.

Since I'm constantly pumping up balls for youth sports, and deflating them, let me say that I'd think a ballboy would have to be incredibly good to deflate 11 of 12 balls by exactly 2 PSI without some kind of gauge, and I've never seen a deflated for balls like you have for car tires.

Who is actually responsible for filling the balls with air on the individual level?

Could it be, that that person just simply goofed on all the balls and the refs failed to do their test? Idk how much of a difference it would be grip wise but it might not have been a reasonable difference on the field and the players either didn't notice it at all or did notice but assumed they were OK due to the refs examination of the balls before kickoff and therein trusted that the balls were in tolerance.
