I just hope the NFL doesn't go crazy and do something extreme like force the pats to forfeit.

Whoever on the Pats is responsible for this should probably lose his/hers job if this was done knowingly.

Need more information. How did they get under the allowable level? What did he refs test them at? Ugh.

If someone just deflated them in game then it feels like the 11 would be all different weights.... would be hard to keep them all the same....

No, doing so is easy, almost every pump you buy has a gauge. The hard part it not getting caught. It'd be really damn obvious that a ball boy was doing this.

It means that the officials approved the balls before the game without properly checking them or this is the result of wear and tear.

NFL says New England Patriots had under-inflated footballs in AFC championship game - espnBoston

Yet to be determined is what, if any, penalties may be imposed upon Patriots. One source described the league as "disappointed ... angry ... distraught," after spending considerable time on the findings earlier Tuesday.

Part of the investigation that still needs further vetting is how the 11 footballs became under-inflated. The game balls provided to each team for preparation were required to be inspected and approved by referee Walt Anderson two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff before they were returned to each team. No alteration of footballs is allowed once they are approved, under league rules and regulations.

I swear if they take this away from patriots I will not watch one more football game for the rest of my life

I don't understand why the Bill would possibly do this with a run heavy game plan. If there is no reasonable explanation, I will not be able to defend it.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before but... how would this have given any advantage to the Patriots and not the Colts? Didn't they all play with the same footballs?

So far, I'm fine with everything that has been released...

No.

Well, with it being 11 under inflated balls, I think we can rule out the "Gronk spiked it!" defense.

They each bring their own balls.

Seriously, **** you Belichick.

Always forcing us to deal with unnecessary controversies for no damn reason.

It's so ****ing frustrating. So good at the actual game that there is no reason for garbage like this. Makes me sick to my ****ing stomach.

Dumb.

It comes down to if someone with the Patriots talks. If no-one does then it's he said, he said on whether they were checked correctly by the refs, etc.

If someone from the Patriots says he did it and Bill said to do it, then there's a problem.
