Is there any chance we are about to watch Tom Brady's last game?

I can't imagine it being Brady's last game win or lose. Man, he has been playing for a long time. He has come a long way from that guy that took Bledsoe's spot, on a team that was more defensive orientated, to a offensive master that appeared totally unstoppable at times (even when the backfield was empty) and then back to some balance in the middle. I know it is coming, but Brady retiring will be huge. There are few guys that the average football fan can say they were lucky to see play live. Montana, Sanders x2, even Marino and Moon. But Brady is certainly one of the best in the business STILL.

If the guy can play, he can play. He can do everything a QB is really required to do in a standard system. He can make every throw with accuracy and still has fire. If I am BB I let him play until he can't or doesn't want to. It's Tom Brady, who ever is behind him can wait as long as the guy can still get the job done at his level.

I don't know. I hope not.

I've had the feeling all year that if he wins the Superbowl, he will retire. I know he talks about playing for an extra ten years and breathing, bleeding and eating football, but it could possibly be a cover up for something else, he's not saying, so that we don't worry about him. Watching all of his interviews and press conferences, he has been doing a lot of reflecting, talking about his career in retrospect and how he doesn't take the game for granted and stuff like that. I figured, he's probably gonna retire at the end of the season as the GOAT, after winning the SB. Then I thought, maybe he's talking this way because he's older and that's how older guys are, who have played in the league 13+ years. Then I was watching the game Sunday and a couple things stood out to me.

* The Curtain-Call: It was beautiful, perhaps staged or set-up by Kraft. It was almost as if he was saying goodbye to home or home was saying goodbye to him.

* The Hug: I know he and Kraft were happy to get another chance at the SB, but that hug seemed much more deeper than that.

There was also the contract renegotiation, where he's lost his leverage over the Patriots. There was also Gronk's emotional interview, earlier this season, after the Cinci game, they really wanted to win this season for him. Could Brady possibly be hanging up his cleats? I think if he wins it this year, he will retire. If he doesn't win the SB, I think he'll stick around and try and get his fourth, but will he be playing for the Patriots? He didn't sound so sure in that interview with Andrea Kramer earlier this season.

Maybe I'm just looking too much into this. I definitely hope this isn't the case. Football wouldn't be the same for me, without him.

I swear, freaking nobody wants to let me enjoy this Superbowl
Obviously the right thing to do would be to root for the Seahawks because it makes us better in the long run if he sticks around. Also, to groom Aladin. You guys can't be so short sighted here.

He's a rookie.

And next year he'd be a 2nd year vet. We don't see him in practice and don't know what he's capable of.

Brady's greatest value is to the Patriots in the 2015 season. Depending on his performance, 2016 would be the time to start having this discussion.

Regarding value, I was referring to value for other teams. If TFB walks away with another SB ring a bunch of teams are going to be salivating over the chance to get him, not as much a year or two removed from a SB.

Yes, I know what you meant. I believe the Patriots will consider his value of staying put greater than what they would get in trade.

Brady has no life outside of football. He'd be bored silly. You people are engaging in ridiculous conjecture. He says he wants to play forever but what does he REALLY mean.

is there a chance he reconsiders and chooses to go out on top like John Elway?

There a problem with you premise. To compare Elway when he retired to Brady is comparing apples to oranges. Elway was a shell of his great self when he retired. He retired a game manager with Terrell Davis running wild. It was Terrell's team, not Elway's. Same cannot be said of Brady. This is still Brady's team and Brady is still playing at an incredible level. Elway went out on top in regards to winning a Super Bowl, not being a top 3 QB. Brady is still a top 3 QB. WTF would he walk away now?

I know Tom Brady has mentioned he's a football player and would love to play into his 40's, but is there a chance that we are about to watch his last game?

IF IF IF (BIG IF) we are fortunate enough to come away from this game victorious, is there a chance he reconsiders and chooses to go out on top like John Elway?

I suppose it wouldn't be as far fetched as it sounds. So as if you needed another reason to enjoy the game, keep this in mind.

Why would you post this thread??? WHY????

Brady: "When I suck, I'll retire"

That should be the end of this conversation.

I don't think this is Tom's last game but it could be his last Superbowl.

If we all get our wish and the Patriots win the Superbowl, Tom is going to want to try for another one. If the team weren't so damn good, maybe he'd think it was time to call it quits. But he has a mostly young and very talented group around him. Really, this group of players is the best we've had in years. And there is no sign that Tom is any less personally motivated than he's ever been. So no, I don't see Tom hanging it up. Whether he'll play until 45? That is looking way too far into the future, and nobody has that sort of prognostication ability, not even Tom Terrific.

Zero.

Not only is it not his last game nor his last game with the Patriots but this won't even be his last Super Bowl. In my opinion anyway

I can't imagine a patriots team without our number 12... It'd be really hard.

100% chance he never plays again....of course this isn't his last game

Is the OP confused?

TB is not #18 and playing for Denver

If I was Tom Brady I could figure out something to keep me occupied at least 27 minutes every day before I even stepped out of bed
