Anyone else happy NBC is doing SB 49?

I personally don’t have anything against Simms OR Collinsworth. I do have an issue with both Nanz and Michaels, who are both Pats haters. Whenever the Pats defense is on the field, all I hear from either one (especially from Michaels) is “and the <insert opponent name here> is looking for a flag”…. GTFO

Gruden is just an annoying cartoon… an idiot.

Prefer NBC. I like Dan Patrick, Rodney, and Dungy in the studio.

I don't mind Nantz, but hate Simms. I don't mind Aikman, but hate Buck. Tirico and Gruden are OK, but I can't stand the ESPN NFL Countdown crew, especially Ray Lewis.

It would of been a muted super bowl in my house if Simms and Buck were calling this game.

I love Al Michaels. From his days on ABC. He and Collinsworth make a good team and I rarely have to mute them. I seem to do that a lot with Simms and Nantz !

Love NBC and CBS broadcast. Hate fox.

Don't understand the hate for Nantz and Simms. No broadcast team that's done more Pats games than them.

I don't follow your logic. We should like Nantz and Simms solely because they do a lot of our games? Have you listened to the horse **** that comes out of their mouths? They both can't stand the Pats and Simms is ready to hump every QB not named Brady.

In the last 3-5 years I've seen my stock in Al Michaels go up 5000%. Did he go through a divorce or have his dog die? The guy has become insanely cynical and it's amazing. I especially love his outright hatred of the penalty-driven modern day NFL.

I have to admit I hated Collinsworth at first but he has actually blossomed into a really good commentator. Though, I am still trying to figure out whether I think he's good or just looks good because of all the other crap commentators out there.

I don't like Natz and Simms like everyone else, but saying they're big Peyton fans is a bit ridiculous.

There was a petition not too long ago to remove Simms from commentating for Broncos game, started obviously by Broncos fan, because they thought he was too bias against Manning.

That being said, I think Michaels and Collinsworth are the best in the biz and certainly like NBC Sports' presentation over CBS and Fox by a lot.

With simms and nantz its always about propping the underdog. So during the days when manning came in here during the playoffs and everyone was expecting the colts to run over the pats, those 2 reminded constantly pregame and postgame about tom brady and the pats.

I was until I remembered it was Collinsworth. I just can't take him.

Love AL Micheals, he is a big hockey fan too and an absolutley classic call with the Miracle on Ice. I never get bored of that last 2-ish minutes of that game.

NBC will do a good job...

Yea Broncos fans made a petition to get Simms out from calling their games. Every fan base *****es about favoritism/hate from the commentators. Never got any type of hate from Nantz or Simms towards the Pats.

I used to refer to Collinsworth as Collinsdouche but he has recently earned the right to be called by his actual name in this house. I actually find a lot of his commentary quite listenable of late. As a bonus, I find he looks a little like Mr. Mackey from South Park, which amuses me. Sometimes I find Al Michaels to be a bit of a hater, but he says so little outside of calling the game itself that it doesn't bother me much.

Dimms and Dimmer need to be removed from the air because they simply don't prepare for the games. They aren't adding anything insightful. They just drone on and on about things that are flat out wrong. Half the time they don't seem to know who is even playing. And god help me, if I have to listen to them massacre the name Hoomanawanui just one more time... (protip, there is only one "hoo", unless you are an owl)

Joe Suck has never managed to lose that nickname. He is the low man on the totem pole. Can't stand him. I'm amazed he still has a job.

Gruden I absolutely adore. Tirico is basically his yes man and adds very little, but Gruden and the energy he brings to the games is fantastic. His love for football is pervasive and this is so clear in his commentary. He says something ridiculous every now and again but somehow that just ends up endearing.

Funny thing is I was beginning to want to give Collinsworth a chance until the Ravens game when they had the scripted session on the Commish. Then he just takes over and starts talking about how he never doubted the integrity and blah blah blah. He lost me again and this time it might be for good.

I actually like Michaels and Collinsworth. I prefer CBS broadcast (best out of all 5 IMHO, NBC second) but like many here I seriously cannot stand that jackass Phil Simms. Most of the time I have to watch the games on mute. Gruden is a buffoon too that makes MNF hard to watch. I don't watch enough games on FOX to have an opinion on Aikman and Buck.

Collinsworth is OK, but his league ballwashing get's tiresome. When choosing between the network teams, it's not choosing what is best, rather...

NBC are great...especially compared to the rest. Michaels has that homely voice you can listen to forever, and Collinsworth knows how to put across the experience from his playing days.

I miss Faith Hill though!!!

I know Collinsworth can be really annoying at times, but I generally enjoy Al Michaels commentary.

I actually think Collinsworth is awesome. He loves the game, and he loves good football. He also doesn't give a crap about the non-football noise surrounding the Pats, usually.

Bob Costas really grinds my gears

I don't blame them for that. That was like a hostage reading a prepared-by-the-hostage-takers statement at gunpoint. They were forced to read it, and you could tell from their voices that they were forced to read it.

If I had to hear "I teel you waht Jeeem" during the superbowl, I don't know what I would do.

It's a shame that every time CBS's NFL ratings go up, someone congratulates Phil Simms. I will take anything over Phil Simms.
