If you could bring back one former Patriot in their prime...

Ty Law

No doubt about it. Law and Talib would bring the entire defense to another level.

I've already given my opinion but the more I chew on it the more Im convinced it's either Moss or Tippett... by a mile or two.

Between those two though.. it has to be a photo finish.

Yeah, a strong argument could be made for Tippett for sure.

It's interesting to see that we all tend to have a lot of different opinions on the specific player. That bodes well for the franchise's history ;)

Moss. He is the second greatest receiver of all time (some argue the GOAT). He scored 23 TDs w/us in one season...when he wasn't in his prime. Randy all the way and it's not even close.

Richard Seymour to play opposite Chandler Jones

Please forgive the necro - it's a long couple of weeks to XLIX. If you could add 1 player from Patriots history to this roster to win this game, who'd you take?

Add John Hannah to really solidify the line? Add Richard Seymour to set the edge against Lynch?

Moss.

Defense; Harrison

Aaron Hernandez. Football is football. But what a chance to be able to prevent him from entering the abyss by preventing the murder. Stallworth too.

Logan Mankins. Let the hair pulling commence.

:D

Random answer, but id say Brandon Spikes. He was a huge part of holding Marshawn to 15 for 41 in the last game, and despite his many many faults I genuinely believe he is the best box run defender in the NFL right now. With our upgraded back 7 I feel that with Spikes we could hold Seattle to a very low offensive output.

Interesting point. Does SEA play 2WR sets? Will NE play base defense in the SB?

Willie McGinest. The Pats need a more consistent pass rush.

If not him then John Hannah since he would undoubtedly solidify the O-line.

Not to be facetious, but would he really be that effective in today's NFL? During his heyday he was a lot closer in size to James Develin than to Logan Mankins.

Ben Coates, just for the ultimate 2-TE offense.

Otherwise, Randy Moss.

I'd take John Hannah at Fullback. Bruce Armstrong would be a welcome addition to the line as well.

Brandon Spikes over Junior Seau in his prime?

Or Andre Tippet? While he known more as a pass rusher, he was an all time great LB, and would be an upgrade against the run.

I would normally say Ty Law, but given we have Revis, Browner, and Arrington as a very good top 3, Law would just push out Arrington and push Browner down the list.
So instead I'd say either Rodney -- Revis, Browner, Arrington, McCourty, Harrison would be incredible;
Or Richard Seymour -- Seymour would be a huge upgrade over over 3rd/4th dline

I presumed we were talking about players in the Prime of their Patriot careers. As far as Tippett vs. Spikes goes, Spikes was really just born for the wrong time period. Spikes in 70's or 80's football would have been unbelievable. We'd be talking about him as a potential HOFer vs. a rotational LB on his 2nd team. He's really incredible as a box run stuffer, the problem is that he's really terrible at the rest of the stuff which is like 75% of the game now.

Tippett was a great pass rusher and an all around better linebacker, but despite his martial arts background, I'd rather have the 260 lb Spikes hitting Lynch in the A gap than the undersized in today's NFL Tippett.

1.Seymour
2. Andre Tippett
3. John Hannah
