Is there any chance we are about to watch Tom Brady's last game?

He gets traded to the jets. You read it here first

Ok, everyone, you can put the pitchforks away.

Who knew there would be such negativity towards someone even presenting the mere possibility that a 37 year old QB could possibly retire after winning the Super Bowl? I don't think it's quite as crazy as you make it appear to be.

Brady is in his prime. He has stated [publicly that he wants to play till the age of 45 and is working on keeping his physical skills up to realize his ambition.

Why doubt the man's will to succeed? Why doubt the man's willingness to put in the work required to reach his goal.

Perhaps if he wins 3 of the next 4 he will consider retiring.

Normally Id agree but there is literally no reason to believe that he will retire. He clearly still has alot left in the tank and he loves playing football. If they win it this year *even if they don't* they will still have a strong chance to come right back and be in the SB again next year.....You think he walks away from that? I think the chances of this happening are so low its not even worth discussing.

I know Tom Brady has mentioned he's a football player and would love to play into his 40's, but is there a chance that we are about to watch his last game?

IF IF IF (BIG IF) we are fortunate enough to come away from this game victorious, is there a chance he reconsiders and chooses to go out on top like John Elway?

I suppose it wouldn't be as far fetched as it sounds. So as if you needed another reason to enjoy the game, keep this in mind.

Not unless the front office surrounds him with WR's wearing huge donuts on their heads. :D

Elway went out with a repeat though.

So this year, no. Now if the Pats beat Seattle and then repeat, Brady will have 5 rings and in my opinion nobody else ever will. There will be no more argument. It will be indisputable who the greatest is. THEN there's a half decent chance it could happen. IMO.

I think a SB win makes it more of a possibility but not probable. This team still has years left to compete for the title after SB 49.

I doubt he plays till he's 45 and he is not in his PRIME but I think its logical to think he has another couple or few great years left in him. 45 sounds like more of a pipe dream.

Are you serious?

He seeks to emulate Nolan Ryan. HE is thinking out side the box.

HE is in his prime, why would you maintain he isn't in his prime. Tedy Bruschi thinks he is in his prime. I agree with Bru.

Given what he's said and his current skills it seems unlikely.

But let's wring our hands over this for the next few months or so. Should be fun.

Because I don't think he is as good now as he was when he actually was in his prime. Also, because people that are 37 are typically not in their prime.....Id go as far as to say they NEVER are. Aging just does that to a person. Doesn't mean he isn't still great and not still elite tho. I think he is.

Brady is better now than ever is some aspects of his job description: reading defenses, helping to develop game plans, setting an example for work ethic, motivating the players around him, modeling resilience and determination in the face of adversity, and probably a few more.

He may not have quite as strong an arm as he did at 30, or be as nimble when he takes off on a run, that's true.

In terms of people in general, there are a number of professions, vocations, and responsibilities that people are better at as they age, right up until they get infirm. I'm much better at what I do now at 56 than I ever have been. And I'd be a much better parent right now than I was at 37. So yes, you are right: people at 37 are rarely in their prime, because most of us learn and build capability throughout adulthood. At 37, people just aren't old enough yet to be in their prime.

What evidence do you have that his performance is declined?

None as in zero. Unless he dies. Next??

I say YES.

The last game he plays of the 2014 season.

Then it will be on to 2015.

Nope, not a chance. He still loves the game way too much and is still playing at a very very high caliber.

I mean what would he do with all the free time? hang around his house all day and have sex with Giselle....
hmmm
on second thought...maybe he will hang em up....LOL

Just had this conversation sunday night.. i feel if they win it all vs seattle he could go out on top.. nothing left to prove champion... and i would be happy for him
