Mr Kraft, The Time has Come To Ask: Whose Side Are You On?

well, at least I got a new nick for the Goon...Flatballsdell

Personally, I'm sick of this ****. No other team would be subjected to this kind of crap:

http://www.si.com/author/michael-rosenberg

As fans, we should be pissed off. After the ridiculous ****storm around Spygate, the last thing anyone in the Patriots organization should do is to give rise to any suspicion regarding the legitimacy of what we do. If something did occur - which I strongly doubt - then someone should be fired for sheer stupidity. If it didn't, as is likely the case, then it needs to be addressed forcefully and firmly. I'm certainly not naive enough to believe that this will go away or that we can do anything about it, but I am pissed off.

In other words, the Internet is "over-inflated."

Without a doubt.

I mean, I get that it sucks that everyone rags on our team, but if it wasn't this it would be something else. Thank goodness the team seems to be good at ignoring the noise because we are sure not.

I'm wondering if maybe sleep deprivation has to do with 56 pages of complete panic in the other thread. Otherwise, I don't know. I get that we are all over invested in the team somewhat….that's why we're all here. But maybe we need to dial it down a bit. What's all this "Now we have to deal with this…" stuff. We are on the internet battling trolls. We choose to do that, for the most part. If people on the internet (who don't care one bit about the truth anyway) are that upsetting, it's probably time to step away for a bit.

I'm gonna tell you ONCE...STOP MAKING SENSE

I think in the end it will turn out that kraft was right to give no credence to this ridiculous media creation of making something out of nothing.

  1. It's two long weeks until the Super Bowl, and this is a topic to kill time
  2. This (partially) ruined the post-AFCCG celebration
  3. It's being talked about everywhere, not just on the internet

For one day handling it my screaming "I'm not a crook" might feel better but in the long run giving it no legitimacy is a better move.

I knew if the Patriots made it to the Super Bowl that some in the media would spew crap in an attempt to entice non-Pats fans with low-hanging fruit of implications of impropriety, but this is ridiculous.

For example, here is something from SI. I wouldn't have been surprised if it came from a newspaper or radio station from the hometown of a rival team, but this coming from a nationally recognized magazine/website causes it to add credence.

If you don't want to give the writer and SI the benefit of a click, here's a synopsis on NESN:

Sports Illustrated: Patriots Cross Lines Other Teams Wouldn't Dare Crossing | NESN.com

NFL teams visiting Gillette Stadium, deflated balls are the least of your worries. The New England Patriots apparently are devious, rule-bending jerks. Even building Patriot Place, the shopping plaza surrounding Gillette Stadium, was merely an elaborate scheme to help head coach Bill Belichick cheat, according to Sports Illustrated.

In a column framed around the accusation that the Patriots deflated balls in Sunday’s 45-7 AFC Championship Game win over the Indianapolis Colts, Sports Illustrated listed many other ways in which the Patriots “cut corners.”

Here are some:

–Patriots staffers who supply the visiting team with towels eavesdrop and report back findings to the home team.

–Opposing coaches put locks on their locker room to prevent Patriots staffers from walking in to grab play sheets.

–Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t follow the unwritten rule to run by his ineligible formations with the league office before running them last Saturday

–Belichick instead ran it by NFL referee Bill Vinovich before the game in hopes to confuse and intimidate the official.

–And the best of all: The large monitor outside CBS Scene restaurant in Patriot Place only is visible to the Patriots’ sideline, which gives Belichick and the Patriots the advantage of being able to see replays.

Wow. Break out the tin foil hats. This would be considered over the top lunacy even on a Jets fan forum message board.

Just look at how this troll masquerading as a writer at SI begins his column:

DeflateGate allegations against Bill Belichick, Patriots should come as no surprise - SI.com

This? This is totally believable. Around the NFL, people wait for stories like this to come out of New England. They wonder when Bill Belichick’s team will get nailed again. This is not as simple as saying, "Hey, they got caught for SpyGate!" It runs deeper than that.

The Patriots are suspected of cutting so many corners, their home field should be an oval. It starts in the parking lot, extends to the locker room, goes right to the field of play, and makes opponents look all over Gillette Stadium, wondering what Belichick will pull next.

I agree

friends of mine who like other teams told me they're pulling for the Pats because nobody can stand the seahawks. They all withdrew that support with this nonsense. I don't particularly care, but it would be nice for the organization to take the brunt of it. Makes them look guilty by hiding from it.

Sports radio stations? TV?

What would the world be like without these things? I'll tell you….a LOT quieter. I don't listen to sports radio about our team and I don't watch TV unless it's a movie I want to watch. Hence, the internet is it for me. And I can turn that off too, whenever I want.

It only ruins an AFCCG celebration if you spend your time refuting what trolls post. The damper for me came much earlier….with the "Who's worried about Seattle?" thread. People here don't really know how to celebrate….we only know how to worry.

With the continued silence from Patriots Place today and in the past on other matters, I had to give your post a very heavy hearted "Agree".

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt today, as it is a holiday, who knows what is going on with him. But if he doesn't get in front of this quickly, that shows a serious lack of learning....

I dunno, by trying to resolve this now, then it becomes the lead story and blows up like Spygate. By pointing out that it's absurd and just letting it lie, then it will get overwhelmed by actual football news and opinion. Haters who are going to be rabbiting on about this would be going "Belicheat...Spygate..." regardless, so let 'em.

I think what it shows is an agenda to try to distract the Patriots since this happens EVERY time we have a huge game coming up. They know they're up against it so they're trying to even the odds at the expense of the game. It's sad.

Some few of us, and we were only a few, warned about this sort of crap during the Spygate days. It sucks ass that we were right, because this sort of crap has been a needless pain in the ass ever since. This time, Kraft needs to sack up. This doesn't help his bottom line. This doesn't help his brand. This doesn't help his team. This doesn't help his fan/customer base.

It has nothing to do with Patsfans.com. It has everything to do with Kraft protecting the wrong shield.

Nothing has ruined the post game celebration for me. I'm so used to people slinging rocks at this team it doesn't phase me in the least.

By not acknowledging this crap is the best way to deal with it. If Bob comes out and says this is BS it puts more light on it and makes the public perception of him- representing the team even more guilty.

The only way this crap goes away is when BB, Brady and Kraft are gone and the team is 2-14.

Let the world sling mud. I'd rather follow a team that wins.

I could care less about the internet trolls. They're morons and easy to make look stupid.

I'm more annoyed with the media which dictates reality in our society. Worse yet, they know it.

I think it has put a significant damper on the celebration. Everywhere it's being discussed that the Patriots are cheating. I totally agree with shmessy, disappointed in Kraft.

I would like nothing more for Kraft to go to Goodell and tell him to go F himself and tell him put this crap to bed and quit jerking his team around.

The problem is that if he does that and it sees the light of day, his reputation is ruined. Look at the Ravens and Biscotti and all the stuff they swept under the rug with the Ray Rice stuff. The man is a slime.

I think filing tampering charges is a good first step in retribution.

Another good step is winning the Super Bowl and nothing coming out about the team cheating.

I just don't think anything can be done. Its a wound that will always stay open. Some days it hurts. Some days is doesn't.

Some wonderful research went into that article:

"After safety Bernard Pollard injured Brady in 2006, the NFL did change its rules to protect its star quarterbacks."

Carson Palmer was the one that got injured in 2006 and was the cause of the rule change. Brady got injured two years later.
