True. By delaying this till the offseason - means it's not a simple issue which means thee might be something more to it. And if we end up winning - won't be legit until the ruling is made.
Not necessarily. This league is famous for taking forever to investigate matters and it's an effective tactic. The longer it takes the more likely other things will happen to capture the public's attention and make everyone forget. Just one problem: people rarely forget anything about NE.

What did he say?
Believe it or not it was Mortenson I believe who said this should be a non story and it's a shame that instead of looking at how great New England played, everyone is looking at this instead.

Is it me or does Trey Wingo think this is all BS?

So explain how you think we did it, since you seem to think that ludicrous result is a valid possiblity

You think the possibility of us cheating is ludicrous. That's basically what I have been arguing against here. And I think the fact you believe that, is what's ludicrous.

You have already made up your mind, we can't cheat. That, it is impossible for us to be cheating or caught cheating. Why would I want to continue argue against that? I mean, to me, we already know it's possible for us to be caught cheating. It's not a matter of possibility or impossibility, but rather a matter of whether we did or didn't.

Like I said, I hope you haven't dug in your heels so deep, that you snap if it turns out otherwise.

After the league caught some flack for "burning the tapes" they are doing their due diligence this time. I really think it's nothing more than that.

I kinda like us being the evil empire. I like that the trolls get all hot and bothered by this. Kinda like that wrestler who hides the foreign object, kind of distracts the opponent, always making them think, oh wait, are they cheating. Also, should give our Pats more motivation, as if they aren't motivated enough. Underdogs, league against us, US VS THEM. I love it. Funny thing is, I bet you almost anything, it will come out that nothing nefarious was happening, but Belichick and the Pats will be looked at as cheaters regardless. Who gives a **** what the haters think.

Also, the funny thing is the league if investigating the Jets for tampering as far as Woody Johnson's Revis comment. Watch that disappear, yet it was an exact example of what the rule states.

BB is gonna have a field day with this. Just keep feeding the disrespect.

Good, good, let the evil flow through you.

I agree. Not sure why the NFL would want this hanging over the Super Bowl. Unless they want to attract viewers with the idea that it's the Seahawks versus the big bad Patriots. Pete Carroll isn't such a good role model (see USC).

Because deflate-gate is the perfect diversion for things like this:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...cago-bears-national-football-league/16981865/

Don't forget, the NFL had a brutal year PR-wise, and was probably expecting a lot of bad press leading up to the Super Bowl. Goodell is doing hand-stands right now for the Colts bailing him out.

For all the nonsense accusations, this is a hilarious picture from haters hahahaha View attachment 8193
This is clearly the reason why the Pats won by 38 points. Jim Miller and Pat Kirwin were just destroying this conspiracy theory before. Kirwin said he doesn't give a crap about it and that's why they have all those balls. Says sometimes balls get deflated during low temperatures. Basically "who gives a ****?" was his reaction.
Link??

Why would you say it's possible for us to be caught cheating?

Again, please explain how we would have taken air out of the balls.

And yes it is ludicrous to think that this was done, and if you answer the question you will probably realize that.

You've already dug your heels in that the patriots are guilty unless they can prove they're innocent. Which is an almost impossible standard. If they played with a slightly deflated ball that was approved by refs it's the same as taking steroids. You would just assume they "knew" even though the refs didnt.

You've shown yourself to be utterly irrational.

Deflatriots... lol. These accusations are ridiculous...

Great now we will listen to the BS for 2 weeks. How freakin hard is it to investigate alleged underinflated balls?

Don't worry about it, just go play a Superbowl with this hanging over your heads and don't even think about it.

Like in 2008 when they played with the threat of a Congressional investigation hanging over them as they were trying to accomplish something historic.

Where? The only thing I said is that it seems to me we are specifically being investigated for it, and it's not just standard procedure, and then sources came out afterwards and are backing that and the original source.

I think they can be proven to be innocent, or better said not guilty. And I most certainly hope it's not guilty. And no I wouldn't assume they knew, unless proven otherwise.

Joke gate ... always had to put a few extra pounds of air in the basket ball to play outside this time of year. Cannot properly inflate a ball indoor for outdoor winter play.

Meh.......

Your argument is basically that since cheating is theoretically possible in some area, it is believable in all areas. I could say Tom Brady used X-Ray vision to read the Colts playbook, and if someone said it's ludicrous and impossible I could claim as you are that CHEATING IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

But how? The Patriots hand the balls to the officials who test and control them. You need to come up with some absurdly ludicrous evil empire ninja **** to come up with how they then managed to sneak in and intentionally deflate a couple of balls while the balls were sitting on the sideline in front of a national audience under NFL control. Or how they're culpable for controlling the minds of the officials charged with inspecting the balls. Not to mention how ludicrous it would be to begin with, so they deflate a couple of balls to provide some unmeasurable advantage. Then how do they get the NFL to use those balls over the other 20 or so? More Jedi mind tricks?

It's not that cheating per se is impossible. It's that this specific allegation requires the same team that faked the moon landing to team up with the guys that covered up the Kennedy assassination to come together with the CIA to pull off the coverup. And everybody knows those guys don't work together.

Clandestine deflating of the footballs for the purpose of cheating the sanctity of the 45-7 game? LOL, wow. Note to BB, if you're down one score in the SB, deep in your own end, and less than a minute to go, please do the old 'nothing up my sleeve' switcheroo with the ball in favor of your special helium filled ball. Now let Brady throw an 80 yard pass in the air to Minitron (call it Flubber-gate?).

As another poster eluded to, we are a country too full of dumb people. People who believe their visceral feeling is an actual well thought out conclusion that needs to be fought for to the bitter end (That damn BB keeps winning a lot! He must be cheating! It's the formations, it's the footballs, it's the pictures, it's the whole damn thing! Waaaaaa...)

The only way the conspiracy could occur is if the Ball attendant has a secret bag of deflated balls to switch the approved ones for. Does anyone really believe that is plausible unless the ball boy is Houdini.

So did the officials recheck all the balls immediately after the game because we all know that temp changes affect the pressure of inflated objects. If so, they should be able to quickly determine if there were just a couple of bad apples or if the whole lot was bad. If not, there is really nothing to investigate as there would be no proof.
