Each team gives the refs 12 balls before the game, then the home team has to supply another 12. With the rain and the way they the ball boys sub the balls in and out, it would be impossible to get a specific ball in play. Just another throw some random allegation up against the wall and hope it sticks!
It doesn't matter the media is now going to run with it whether its true or not.

i agree thats his purpose and if it turns out to be false then he should have to pay. The Krafts will look at it as as a petty thing but they need to do something to put others off from doing it again. If Kravitz made this up then he should be made an example of.

He should have n to forfeit one of his balls. He can choose which one he wants to keep.

Florio:
"Via Bob Glauber of Newsday, the NFL has confirmed the existence of an investigation regarding whether the balls were properly inflated in the AFC title game."
....
"The existence of the investigation, as initially reported by Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star, suggests that the referee failed to properly check the specifications of the balls, the referee didn’t properly secure the balls before they were given to the ball attendant, or something happened to the balls after they were given to the ball attendant."

The latter is the only way "cheating" could have taken place. Very unlikely for reasons above.

Bask in the hate, gentlemen! We may never get to enjoy so many sore losers in our lifetime! hahahahahaha airgate. Hope this is on every headline, makes me enjoy it more :)

I really don't understand why Pats fans get worked up about this kind of crap.
Enjoy their misery I say.

You can say that and TB, BB and the rest of the team can say that but at a certain level it will. I guess its more me, i'm really sick of this crap, instead of listening to real analysis for the next two weeks i'm going to hear about the pats cheating again.
I don't think it'll get that much traction, but I also thought that about the video stuff, LOL. I hate it, too, but it's a fact of life that stuff like this will be attributed to this team forever. Just the way it is.

Exactly. I just googled it.

It is being reported widely by almost every outlet now.

Whether anyone here likes it or not, this will be THE story in the United States of America today.

The Krafts must go on the offensive and not pull a "no comment until the commish investigates" this time.

End it now.

It's just not a Patriots playoff win without opposing teams complaining and some sort of conspiracy...

I think with the cameras, that was tied directly to BB's involvement so it was much easier to accuse people of cheating. Not the case here.

Anyway - informed people know this had no impact on the result. Time to win a ring and put all of this crap behind us.

As for the media.... it's the Patriots. People care about the Patriots. People click on or watch stories about the Patriots. That tells you all you need to know for why this story has taken off. Nothing more than that.

There's a lot of wishful thinking in this thread.

It's going to be the main story in the United States of America today until the Krafts/League definitively quash it. A third party better come out on this quickly.

Gotta love Bob Kravitz. He was just speaking to Callahan and Dennis on EEI as he was getting on his plane and he mentioned the old " taping practices".

Oh crap, here we go with the Pats-as-cheaters meme. How clever of them to be able shuffle the differently inflated balls in and out during the game with no one noticing till the end. Wiley b@$tards.

The Pats are getting deeper into the heads of the losers. I wonder whose head will be the first to blow up? My guess would be Marshall Faulk. He was ready to go at any time, and that was before Ballgate. Tick... tick... tick...

In a perfect world, this "investigation" would end soon but I get the feeling the league will take their sweet time with this...

Are we sure it wasn't the Colts QB that was deflated:

QB's are fastidious about footballs. They know down to the milligram if a football is off or not. Each QB is allowed to keep their own stash for a game.

I want to hear from Andrew Luck. Did he feel the footballs he was throwing and holding last night were off?

He certainly did not say a word about it at his press conference.

To me, Andrew Luck is the center of who the press should ask.

Guilty... It was obvious the Pats filled the Colts balls with helium. Luck sailed so many balls over his receivers heads it was laughable. So of those balls still haven't come back to earth.

Brady laughed when he heard about Ballgate. That's all I needed to hear.
