The Official Weather thread for the playoffs

Ugh. How do you people live up there? Really though, I think under optimal conditions the Pats have their way with this team. I think a bad rainstorm can only help to even the playing field.

My first AFCCG and that's the weather I get... FAAAAAAAAK

On the flip side, if we can limit their run game and force Luck into throwing, the wet deep ball may give them some problems. For the Pats, I hope they can shove some Blount-force and #35-shades-of-Gray down their throats.... :)

I'm pumped! should be a great tailgate party with TVs, watching the NFCCG. :)

Some sources are predicting patchy fog. I doubt it'll be that much, but it will be just another adversity for Indianapolis to overcome weather-wise.

I've only seen a handful of foggy games, and one of them was really thick fog. Should be interesting either way

Keeping a close eye on this, even though that would qualify as a symptom of insanity because it is, by definition, completely out of my control.

I think that bad rain in the second half can work to the Pats advantage, especially against a Dome team, since their D has basically shut teams down in the final 30 minutes, averaging four points yielded since the bye:
IND: 10 points (but a blowout)
DET: 3
GB: 3
SD: 0
MIA: 0
NYJ 6
(BUF 0)
BAL 10.

But it also means that, as others have observed, they really can't plan on another big comeback. They will have to take a lead early and put the game in the hands of Brady and the D in the second half. I'll be very, very nervous if they're behind at halftime.

As an aside, I'll be interested to see if there's any downward movement today in the 54 point O/U line for the game.

There is no way any type of bad weather levels the playing field with a dome team.

Idk. A slippery ball is a slippery ball. Im not sure how often the pats have played or practiced in a significant rainstorm

Herron is prone to fumbling the ball. Luck is prone to turning the ball over. Rain should increase the likelihood of these events occurring. We also have a defense that is opportunistic and can take advantage of such mistakes. Meanwhile, our offense has been pretty good at protecting the ball (for the most part.)

This definitely favors us.

Loads more than the Colts, I can guarantee you that.

Indy's receivers have a lot of drops too. Don't see how rain helps them, especially considering they're a dome team.

I am a true believer in this second half defense. The stats are so concrete it's hard not to be. Just want to see the offense start fast and early. No sputtering.

Dome team with Luck making poor decisions...won't level the playing field at all

It rains in lots of places. People live in lots of places. I think the rain neutralizes a speed team.

Did a little research on the "defer" issue.

Holy smoke... BB is probably the last person in the world I would think would believe in any kind of superstition or karma, but that would certainly explain alot of things as to why he would defer all the time. I think that would spook even him.

Has it really been that long? I could have sworn I'd seen it at least once since then but I guess not.

i don't know if BB would have coached the situation of a wet ball with this team...
good one. well-played. i'll bet some people even give you a negative response because they missed the obvious sarcasm of your comment.
the guy who coaches the situation of the guy lined up next to the center being an eligible receiver while the guy lined up in the slot is ineligible, the guy who coached up the last drop kick in the NFL, who coached up taking a safety to win a big game, the guy who coached up a double pass in a playoff game with all the cards on the table...that guy has not coached his team to play a game in the rain, when he plays eight home games and three division away games a year in outdoor stadiums, including miami which can have deluges in september (i lived there for a couple of years for a year).
