Gresh out in Sports Hub shakeup

Gresh is in on it. Either he is going to another show with a bump in pay or he is leaving the market with a bump in pay. My theory, actually a hypothesis, is he replaces Beetle on Felger and Mazz.
Replacing Beetle is a step down. Not sure he would do that.

Part of me wonders if Felger and Mazz took all the money and none was left over for Gresh.

I also wonder if the Felger/Gresh clash has anything to do with it. I don't think He's been on Felger's tv show in a long time...

You are setting up a false dichotomy. It isn't like only choices are "total homer!" and "spout out a bunch of negative ******** to rile people up because you either can't or don't want to engage in reasonable discourse." There is more than enough room in the middle to set up camp if you are so inclined.

Felger's act works because pissing in people's faces will always get a reaction, but it is lazy and embarrassing.
It isn't just that. It's clear if you listen often enough that neither of them actually know that much about the Pats. Not in the detail you'd expect from a local sports guy talking about them. I mean, that's their ****ing JOB. That's why I consider them lazy. They don't bother to do the work.

It isn't lazy as you make it out to be. Being a lazy contrarian doesn't equate to the top rated sports talk show in the region. I choose to give him credit.

When you get past being sensitive about the sometimes contrarian talk, the show can be quite funny and more entertaining to listen to than WEEI.
Sure it does, in this market.

According to Chad Finn, both sides said the negotiations are going well but nothing is signed. I looked and I do not see that he has re-signed. Dale Arnold announced he re-signed a deal a few days ago though. Maybe that is what you are thinking of.
Yeah, it is.

Agreed PJ. When Gresh was on the Score he was a sophomoric idiot. The Gresh of today is light years better in every way from the pig he used to be.
That's great. I love to hear about people working hard to improve. Good luck Gresh, you porker!

I love Gresh. He is articulate and knowledgeable and entertaining without be a douche like Felger. Gresh was gracious with his hosts and compatriots on the air and never a **** like Callahan. Gresh never opined on politics like Fatty and the Forehead on WEEI. He will be missed. He was the best..

Gresh is The Best football guy on the local airwaves. Too many people (especially here) judge him based on his appearance instead of listening to what he has to say.

This is yet another bonehead move by the local radio stations. The Mother of All Bonehead moves, of course, was firing Ordway; the Big Show was the best sports show on the air anywhere in the country. Ratings bombed after Ordway was gone and so was the idiot management that fired Ordway.

Maybe Gresh will join Ordway on Sirius (http://sportstalkboston.com/); that would be an all-star team.
Agree completely. Gresh knows his football. I also found him and Zo to be a very entertaining pair.
Zo must be so pissed. Losing his brother and being forced to work with Felger's lawn boy. Oh joy....

Gresch ... don't let the door hit you in the ass you blowhard ...

Gresch honed his craft from Jersey 'JackWagon' Red on WPRO am years ago ... nothing to brag about either.

Gresch never made it past the age of 12 ... you are what you are ...
You're call didn't go well, eh??? Did he hang up on you?? :D

Can't stand Chatham. Talk about a guy who takes himself waaaaaaay to serious.

I have a friend who dislikes x and o football talk as well. He doesn't know **** about football to the point where he's not invited to my house on game day. Total buffoon, duuuuh Gronk the best!

What? That's crazy. He's a former Patriot, seems like one helluva good guy, and gives the best football analysis anyone could hope for. I listen to and watch him all the time and never have sensed Chatham taking "himself" seriously. He takes football seriously, and does so with enthusiasm.

Not liking Chatham has nothing to do with x and o football talk. Has to do with Chatham's ego. Someone needs to tell Matt that it's just football and he's not all that.

 Dude, where are you getting this idea? Can you give an example -- a link or video clip? I've never heard or seen the guy being self-referential or anything but humble and articulately insightful.

I want Felger to have his own show....Mazz brings nothing to the table, all he does is agree with Felger. Felger is the best. His sports knowledge is mediocre at best, but his delivery is just hilarious. That's what radio is all about.

I love it when he picked on Kyle Arrington a year or so ago......."Mazz....Kyle Arrington couldn't come up with an interception because he got tripped up by air. Tripped up by air Mazz!! Tripped up by freakin air.......that rat. And those rats that are the Patriots gave him a 4year contract! "

Gresh is boring as hell. Every time I listen to him, he's too careful in criticizing any of the boston sports teams.

It's being reported in tonite's Globe via Chad Finn that Gresh is leaving the midday show after the Super Bowl it's furthered rumored that Bertrand will step in.
I'm on my phone n can't copy the globe link.
Many hear have opined their dislike towards Gresh. While it's easy to criticize, there's none better between Gresh n Zo for good Patriot n football talk. for myself, I can say I'll miss him

And meanwhile the stuffed pig Giants fanboy is still on the air in Boston.

I can't listen to them for even 2 seconds. It's amateur college radio.
Agreed. What unnerves me about them is how much they giggle. I've never heard grown men giggle like that.

Given that "we" have made Felger/Mazz the #1 sports show..... "we" definitely do not deserve better. "We" deserve a whole lot worse.

"We" have not made Felger and Mazz the #1 sports show, some have, I cannot stand this contrarian.

Sports talk is generally becoming less and less about sports, and more about the personalities and their popularity... how many twitter followers?? how many facebook likes??

I used to listen religiously, now much less so as I find most of them insufferable and enamored with themselves instead of the sport...
