THIS is Why Reiss Almost Quit ESPN Last year

I respect Cowherd's opinion as he is right about these kinds of things a lot. He loves Tom Brady. Remember his trashing of the Chargers for drafting Rivers when they have Brees who had the potential for greatness? I also recall him being wrong about Randy Moss so he's not perfect. It's his job to make these kinds of statements as if they are fact. It's what propelled his career.

I think it's easy to start predicting Brady's demise. We all age and at some point he will no longer be effective or able to bounce back from the hits. I love how it's taking a lot longer than everyone keeps predicting, though!

Well, I guess it's obviously pretty urgent and the Pats have to take care of business Sunday.........hard

Is there a milestone in there somewhere about the day that Luck loses to the Pats by less than 3 TD's?

BTW,

cory redding - 34
mike adams - 33
laron landry - 31
d'qwell jackson - 31

their defense is actually older than the pats

And Mathis is 33...and Reggis Wayne is done on the other side of the ball.

It's a silly column, not because of just Brady.

New England is a good team and will be around for a while.

Baltimore is a good team - and I don't know that Luck will EVER be better than Flacco in the post-season. I'm serious. Who has been? The guy has ice-water in his veins.

Texas is a QB away from being scary. Watts and Clowney (hoping he comes back - I want to see that talent) lead a very good defense.

There are a lot of very good programs in the AFC right now, with strong nucleus teams. Claiming a coming dynasty before a team has won one, let alone two, is pretty ridiculous.

Two best QBs in the AFC for the last 14 years were easily Brady and Manning...4 SBs between the two of them.

To bring you up to date:

He almost did last year.

He was upset that ESPN began infringing on his bog with national material. He built the blog. They brought him over originally to do it, and then after a few years the suits told him they were going to bring in their national material. He went publicly ballistic for probably the only time in his career.

Maybe you missed it when it happened.

I definitely did. I'd be interested in reading more on that if you had a link. Unless this was on Twitter or something.

cowherd is absolutely the best, top of the food chain in his business. and it's just his opinion. and it's not baseless either. stop being so sensitive.

....another person who doesn't comprehend the subject of the thread.

and cowherd picked Pats to win. what's the deal? and it's reasonable to think pats' window is closing. at the end of the day brady can't play forever. and it's a QB league and luck has 10 years of greatness in him.

so sick of seeing pats fans being so damn sensitive. grow a damn pair.

if any of you think our 'dynasty' will go on forever then stop dreaming. all the great things don't last forever. sooner or later we will have down years and we will struggle. someday.

Once again, we can write this out for you in crayon if that'll make it easier for ya.

It is NOT about the content of what Colin Cowherd said.

As much as I dislike the article, I suppose it's not that much of a stretch to feel that when Brady and Manning are ready to hang it up, Andrew Luck will be the guy in the AFC who takes over much of the success--at least speaking from the position of QB.

The problem with his thinking is that football is the ultimate team game, so although having a good QB gives you a decisive advantage, we've seen with P.Manning that it doesn't always equate to dominating the conference.

If we keep Revis I can think of no reason why the 2015 Patriots won't be even better than the 2014 team.
Brady will have finally had some stability in his receiving core and we should be in business right from week #1.

Assuming another draft OL beside Stork as well would align my thinking with yours.

Luck has a very good career trajectory going. 1st 3 seasons, 33-15 reg season. 1st season- playoff game, 3rd season - 3 playoff wins, 2014 4700 yds, 1st in TDs with 40 etc. He has a 2.4 career INT rate which is between Brady and Favre so hes not wild with the ball as people think. However he is young and as as a QB that is a shortcoming.

I feel confident in saying that once Indy surrounds Luck with more talent on offense (legit running game) and acquires more talent on the defensive side of the ball, they will be a legit SB contender. With that said, they aren't there yet.
Plenty of QBs have won more and bigger games to start their careers. What do you mean his career interception rate is between Brady and Favre? So he's between the best and the worst QBs of all time at throwing interceptions? So is every other QB.

16 or 18 interceptions may have been more acceptable 15 years ago, but in this era, with these rules it puts him solidly behind his peers. Brady has never thrown that many interceptions in any season his whole career. Neither has Aaron Rodgers, Roethlisburger only did it once. The only QB I can think of that was consistently A league leader in interceptions and still allowed to continue is Favre. People act like he will just clean that one thing up and move on. I don't see it, all the greats took care of the ball from day one, and those that didn't like Favre or Manning never really learned to take care of the ball through their career, and consequently became more known for epic picks in big games then epic wins or Super Bowls.

I think you need to look at it as a progression of improvement and research allthe NFL QBs who have won 3 playoff games in their first 3 seasons. You won't find many. I think you would also agree that the Colts have had a flawed roster in his 3 years in the league.

Brady's career INT %is 2.0 but in his first 1st 1700 throws or so they are fairly equal. Luck is 2.4. Favre is 3.3

I think you need to look at Luck's situation and the team. Brady was in a far better position with a defense that can control games and not rely on the offense to win them. With that said, in Brady's first few seasons, he threw roughly the same number of picks as Luck has in his first 1700 throws. The more a QB throws the more he will get picked off.

Check out Montana. His career INT % is greater than Luck's.
