So Brady is playing in his 9th AFCCG going from the 2001-2014 seasons.

- It's the odds-on safe bet in the BB/TFB era that we play in the AFCCG
- We've been in 5 SBs in 14 years; That's a SB appearance on average every 3 years (although boo-hoo, since the 04 season, it's been more like every 4 years)
- And of course we've been treated to 3 NFL championships

I'd be thrilled to pad the above with another SB appearance this year and of course another SB victory.

I'm just taking a moment out to appreciate all we've been blessed with over the years... While there have been years when we looked like we had no shot at the big one (including 01, ahem,) for the most part this fan-base has had a realistic expectation of a serious run every year in the BB/TFB era.

Yes, I'd love for Bill to continue the magic after the inevitable Brady departure (I would hope, into the sunset... but who knows).

But even if we fade off into mediocrity (don't see that happening, but hey, we don't know... that's why it's called the future...) we're living in the middle of the one of the longest-lasting dynasty in NFL history, more like the one founded by Brady's hero, Montana, than the 60s Packers, 70s Steelers, or 90s Cowboys.

I want this SB BAD boys n girls... but it's a thing of beauty to have this level of expectation to be realistic, year in and year out.

Enjoy this time - it may never come again. (And those of you who get disgusted and jump ship if things go south... well, you were never really aboard :) )

It really is remarkable. I note to my friends when playoff time comes and especially this week, it seems like the season just started and they haven't done anything. Yet NE is one of only four teams left playing for the fourth year in a row. We really are blessed and spoiled to follow this team.

Go Pats!

I didn't really care for football when I was younger. Some friends drug me to a Pats game in 2001, where it was the back up quarterback's second start. I started to get into it and would soon become a huge fan of the game and the Pats.

My entire NFL experience as a fan is that your team just wins all the time. Not bad.

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, a match made in heaven.

The last 15 years have even helped sweeten the sour memories of the previous 40. That's how great this team has been.

Our collective experience will really be fully appreciated when and if it ends in totality. For those of us watching the Pats in the 70s, these last 15 years or so have been so magnificent that words fail.

For those who have been fans since 2000 your ride has been flowing over with sucess, enjoy it because the good and the bad days never last, but there can be LONG transition periods between each. Stay with the team if they hit some bad years, it makes the good years taste oh so sweeter

One of my sons is not a football fan, or a sports fan of any kind, but I convinced him to go to a game in 2001 (at Carolina) when he was in college. The two of you were the extra fans that put the Pats over the hump. Thanks

As Deus so prophetically informed us after the loss to the Chefs, this team is simply simply the culmination of all of the mistakes Belichick has been making.

DAMN YOU TO HELL BILL!

I certainly have enjoyed the ride the past decade and a half !!! But, I guess I am greedy. Oh what could have been IF.....we had been able to close the deal in the 2006 AFCCG, if Asante Samuel had made that pic of Manning in SB42, and if butterfingers Welker could have held on to that 2nd down pass in the 4th quarter of SB46 !!!!

I am enjoying this ride for all its worth. Just have to look within the division to see what happens to successful teams once their franchise QB retires. Consistent playoff teams as the Bills had a good run in the 90s, Dolphins in the 70s and 80s. Now both teams have been mediocre for a decade.

Totally agree. But then the three winning SBs were all by a score. The ball could've bounced badly to the Pats being 1*-4 in past decade plus in the big game.

(*Presuming a barfing Donnavon McNabb isn't winning that game)

This has been more than I could ever dream of at 6 years old, watching New England run out of steam against Green Bay in the super bowl. I thought that was their peak at the time, and would have never guessed they'd go even higher in the future. Looking back, I do feel as though I've been spoiled with all the winning because I take losses so much harder than I used to. But when I step back and look at the grand scheme of the team, not all is lost. There could be much more in store for us from now for all we know!

And i have just been sitting back...enjoying the hell out of this ride! :)

How can you argue with his A+ list of what our roster could have looked like had Belichick not missed out on any draft picks.. ever?

I can't, it's ironclad, especially when it comes to busts like Jamie Collins. However I can't say that he was wrong because we all know he has never been wrong.

I was thinking of this one as well, last night. The Pats were giving Favre & Co., all they could handle in that game. In the third quarter, Pats score a TD to close the score to 27-21 Pack. Then Desmond Howard does the unthinkable, and returns the KO 99 yards for the TD, which essentially broke our back. If only he had been stopped, that game may have ended differently. It looked like the Pats were getting it going. Wasn't he nearly stopped at about the Packer's own 15 yard line? I think he just missed by one of the kick coverage teams. A game of inches I guess.

What is this positivity
