How much does the Flying Elvis logo suck that Brady wears Pat Patriot beanies to his pressers?

Seeing pat patriot remind sme of a Jim Norton bit on O&A where they were discussing what team symbols would win in a fight. Norton took the flying Elvis over that "bent over fruit". Not really pertinent to anything but it always cracks me up when I see pat patriot now.

Well, Jim knows bent over fruit if anyone does.

Both are awesome. Bring pat back twice a season (maybe once on the road?) just paint the helmets like other teams do to get around the changing helmet ban.
Dumbest nfl rule on safety. Hightower and Collins have worn 2 helmets this season without any issue.

This. This almost smacks of Goodell just trying to invent something out of thin air just to give the impression of "fixing" something that isn't broken. So typical.

Well, my impression of TFB wearing the "Old School" logo was that he was fed up with things and intended to go "Old School" on the opponent. It's seemed to work, too, because New England keeps winning. This year, they've taken the other teams to task so much that even when the score is close, the other teams seems to feel the hurt more. I'm down with that.

I have a blue knit cap with a red edge that folds up and has the old logo on it. I wear it all the time. I've had it since before the change. I believe I bought it after the '86 Superbowl. I'm gonna keep wearing it, because it seems that this team is tougher, mentally as well as physically, then many we've had before, and thus HAS the ability to go "Old School" and grind out a win by grinding down an opponent.

So if TFB wants to wear that logo, that's fine with me.

GO PATS!

I find Pat Patriot kinda looks like a Popeye villain.

this may be the best logo in all of sports history...and i have heard this from other fans of different teams.

This debate isn't scheduled until May, right before we spend June discussing uniforms. Let's all agree to meet back up then.

It is exactly that. Give the illusion of fixing an issue that isn't there. If they really wanted it to be about player safety they would change the rule to stop players wearing out dated helmets like brady wearing a VSR-4. Look at Matthew slater and devin Mccourty they wear the xenith it requires no sizing pads on air inflation the padding isn't forced to stay in one place but instead moves with the head. Even if they grandfathered it in so existing players could get away with them like single bar facecages

Absolutely. Close that old thread about our uniforms. In fact, I'll never bring it up again just as soon as I see the following press release: 27 JULY 2016 - FOXBOROUGH, MA-The New England Patriots open training camp tomorrow, and fans will be pleasantly surprised by seeing their team open the 2016 campaign sporting their old favorite, "Pat" Patriot logo on their helmets as they prepare for the first preseason game. In the announcement that players will now wear the previous "throwback" uniforms last seen in 2012 permanently, team owner Robert Kraft said, "I believe our fans deserve the best, and we acknowledge the support they've given us through the years and will always appreciate and respect that." The team will wear red jerseys at home, and white jerseys on the road, along with white pants and helmets.

Patriots fans want to be able to turn on the TV and say "Why, I know them...That's the New England Patriots; I've rooted for them since the sixties, I'm proud they represent us!!" Instead of today, when they say, "Who the hell is that? I don't know, some ugly team from Birmingham or Memphis or something...their team, especially the quarterback, are playing great but their logo and uniforms sure are God-awful..."

It's very important to remember that Roger represents most of the other owners in the league. It's them, and for generations now. They chose Roger, and he's consistently done as they want his entire time as commissioner. Reminder: in '07 Pats did not break any rules; if anyone in the league office subjectively felt that we were taping our opponents' sideline from a "wrong area", then that warranted a verbal warning, over the phone, at most. Clearly, as evidenced by his acceptance of any penalty for ball tampering which never occurred, Bob Kraft doesn't want to make waves, which may explain his acceptance of the logo destruction in '93. Just think: After John Y. Brown, were the Celtics supposed to ruin their logo and uniforms, and have Larry Bird play his whole career dressed like a clown?

Words cannot express how much I miss the regular season and the playoffs.

i like the old uniforms. not as much as the current uni. i would like the old ones a lot more if they got rid of the stripes and put the logo on the sleeves and the number on the shoulders. i don't like jerseys without the logos on them.

Wearing the old stuff can have an small advantage.

A few superstitious people think the "away uniforms" are a curse, so mixing it up can blow up that myth.

Then you should love the new unis. Every NFL team wears a jersey with a logo.

And they don't spare the expense when they make them. It probably cost them a whole quarter to make each jersey.
