Jack Del Rio to Oakland

Del Rio is a meatheat. They'd have been better off with Soprano. Poor Derek Carr.

The only way is up, perhaps he can improve upon is 68-71 coaching record that he had with Jacksonville, it appears that certain teams in the NFL prefer mediocrity..

Hope he does not muss his hair..

retread coach for a retread team. maybe nobody else wanted to coach the raiders

That's one possibility I was thinking as well, because it makes no sense, but then you look at the quality team they are starting to field and look to the division picture and see Denver down the hill, Chargers that are a team that looks will never dominate the conference and has a Choke atmosphere every year and then the Chiefs with Andy Reid losing games mismanaging the clock and Alex Smith past his couple good years. That makes me thing the Oakland job is attractive and the fact that they are for so many years in misery will give to the coach that bring them back to life a great name around the league so it's a big opportunity here.

He has alot of ties to Oakland (grew up around there, parents have season tickets etc, brother works there?) and I guess had Jon Madden in his corner. Hes a 6-10 to 9-7 type guy wouldnt expect much success. Not the bottom the barrel no names they hired last few years but certainly nothing special.

John Fox to Chicago

Not the biggest Del Rio fan, but I gotta admit they look like they might finally have a bright future ahead of them. Franchise QB appears to be in place, young talent at WR, a couple of young budding stars on defense with Moore and Mack, and a really strong draft from last year where they hit on a lot of young talent. Not to mention that they have an abundance of cap space.

Was never a huge fan of the Raiders, but they could finally be on the upswing in a few years.

It won't matter. I put a 25 year curse on the Raiders in 2001. They won't win again until 2026 at the earliest.

the AFC west is ANYBODIES division right now.

Paypay has one foot out the door, KC are a bunch of overachievers, San diego chokes so often they have an emt on staff specifically to perform the heimlich, and the raiders are a perennial failure . any one of those teams could take it next year.

So has any team improved in the coaching area?

Seems like a lot of shuffling of worn cards.

I guess they are trying to bring in an experienced coach but the NFL keeps showing that teams will always hire former head coaches who have had any amount of success at all
