On other boards. Are they taking crazy pill or am I?

Peyton looks done to me. I cant imagine another team picking him up

bills = ej manual + jets = geno smith. Neither is worth occupying a backup spot nevermind being a starter. If I was a fan i'd look at manning even throwing what look like wobbly drunk ducks as an improvement. Just have to do a LOT of running so he doesnt wear out mid season and look like what everyone saw sunday.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him play in AZ for a year.

There are plenty of other teams around the NFL that would improve upon their QB situation by taking Peyton Manning.

I would have to assume that Peyton Manning would be better than 1) EJ Manuel, 2) Geno Smith, 3) Johnny Manziel, 4) Zack Mettenburger, 5) Ryan Fitzpatrick, 6) Blake Bortles, and 7) Derek Carr.

That's just counting the AFC teams, which is almost 50 percent (7/16) squads.

Peyton with no arms is better than

(Starters this year)
Geno
Sanchez
Manuel
Fitzpatrick
Whoever in Tennessee
Whoever in Tampa
Whoever in Cleveland
Whoever in Redskins
Whoever in Chicago

If I was Peyton, I would go to a dome/hot weather team. Tampa? They might be rebuilding but it's a crap division. Saints and falcons play in dome.

Or Arizona. Who has all the pieces but tough to beat Seattle.

Good course teams would pick up Peyton, but I expect he will either play another year in Denver or retire.

I definitely agree with your thoughts, although I'm guessing that the new contract given to Carson Palmer would take them out of the running.

Palmer is the worst value QB ever. All those picks traded and contracts signed. Sigh.

Got to disagree about Carr. He was very impressive for a rookie working with nothing.

I think the Jets should give Geno another shot too. The guy is one of the most physically talented QBs in football. He's worth letting another coach work with while a stop gap vet fills in. Doubt Manning would go to the Jets for a season to take Geno under his wings, even if that would be an amazing opportunity for him and that team.

I'm not really sure that Carr's 58 percent completion percentage or 3-13 record would stop them from signing Peyton Manning, especially if it'd be the "year under the wing" scenario that you mentioned above.

That said, I agree with you that he certainly appears to have some promise for the future.

I agree when looking at the big picture, but he was fairly competent with the Cardinals this season, with a 6-0 record as a starter prior to tearing his ACL.

I guess but that was also what Fitzpatrick did at the bills going 5-1 before getting that contract. It's more of an intangible thing. The palmers, staffords, tannehills, cutlers. For all their physical qualities cannot make up for their lack of want.

Dont think anyone picks peyton. Peyton will pick a team where he wants to go if that is the case because he needs full control on the offense and will work with a head coach who doesnt interfere in his offense. Thats why he went to denver and not SF for e.g.

He can still make the short and intermediate throws. He might throw a lot of ducks. But he still passes better than many other QBs in the league.

If Peyton leaves, he won't go to a cold weather team. It will be either warm weather or dome.

Teams will take the PM that we saw the first 7 games of the season. They will not take the PM that played last Sunday.

I'd give him an extension, but only because I'm a patriots fan.
