John Fox is out in Denver

Add "Coach Killer" to the pantheon of Manling nicknames...
Coach killer ... wide receiver killer ... commercial killer ... Damn guy's a veritable assassin.

Gotta stick up for Fox. Fox won a playoff game with Tim Tebow, and redesigned his offense mid season to suit such a limited QB.

Playoff games won by the Broncos with John Fox as HC and Tim TE bow as QB = 1 (in 1 season)

Playoff games won by the Broncos with John Fox as HC and Peyton Manning as QB = 2 (in 3 seasons)

I think Fox is great for a team with very little recent success and playoff appearances but he's not the best guy for getting someone over the hump (although he damn near did in Carolina as we all know). Sorta like a rich man's Marvin Lewis. Having said that, not sure there's too many better options out there. Denver very well might end up regretting this if they don't have a better option out there. Shocked the entire staff is canned. Why would you get rid of the defense staff? And the offensive coordinator is a hot HC candidate. The team's crash had a lot more to do with Peyton's decline than anything else.

The Feces Hurricane has struck the heart of Greenmoronland with a vengeance and fury....the rats are jumping ship by the thousands as "true Jet fan"'s migrate north to Barfalo and their new Degenerex leader.

Woody should hire anyone related to Kotite now and finish this bleeding green hog off.

Sucks for Denver they missed out on Harbaugh. I think he'd want more control but he would do some very good things with that roster. Not sure who Denver would want. No big names really left.

Look for Fox to end up as the HC in Chicago.

Delhomme
Declining Manning
Cutler

What the hell did Fox do that was so terrible as to deserve that?

You forgot Tebow.

Delhomme wasn't actually a bad guy, humble, good leadership qualities. His playoff implosion in 2008 was awful, but before that he held the fort down pretty good and a decent game manager. The other 2, total divas though. And Cutler would be the biggest.

His best fit would be Atlanta. Matt Ryan is pretty low key, but much better than Delhomme. And he'd get to torture the Panthers. Bears would be another hot seat job from day 1, with a very problematic diva QB. I wouldn't want that job.

If I were an NFL-level head coach candidate, you wouldn't be able to pay me to take the Bears*, Jets or Broncos jobs. I'd sit out a year before I'd go to those places.

*Unless I got assurances that Cutler was going to be gone.

That contract they gave him was just...woof. If BB ever did something like that, this place would be in a state of perpetual rioting.

Speculation is that Manning might pick yet another team to try and get a cushy ride to the SB. Arizona has been mentioned, although I thought they were pretty tied to Palmer. Personally, I think Rex should give him a call.

i hope forhead goes to AZ. he will get destroyed by seattle 2x a year!:D
plus, san fran will have some of their all pro's back..

Wow I just read that the entire coaching staff was fired. Maybe Peyton won't be back after all.

Don't be surprise when Peyton Manning get released and John Elway is coming out of retirement to play for his new coach Mike Shanahan. Incoming salarycap-gate ver.2

As soon as I clicked on this thread the song "What does the Fox say"....this really freaked me out...I know it is some kind of sign but I don't know what...
Thanks for sharing. I mean, very generous of you. So psyched to have that song in my head. Yeah, thanks a wicked lot.

I'd love to listen to NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL GMs talking about some of these types of ridiculous moves. What the hell can they possibly be thinking when they're doling out these deals? I know people around here like to belittle the layperson, but most laypeople would have never agreed to Cutler getting that deal.

I'm guessing the Broncos will interview Quinn after the SB (assuming Seattle beats GB)? I fully expect Quinn to be signed by Woody when Seattle's Super Bowl run ends, but you never know.....
