Jeff Howe:

Consider the most impressive stat of the game: Brady completed 22-of-22 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns when he unloaded the ball within two seconds of the snap, and he was 16-of-16 for 148 yards and two scores in the second half.

Considering that, IMHO, he didn't complete 17 of 16 passes in the 2nd half, I think it may be time to start the Garo era as some here have been suggesting. The problem couldn't possibly have anything to do with the Kline.. eh, err, oops, I mean the line.

To add to the evidence:
He said LaFell is the toughest WR he has ever played with. That took me by surprise. That is high praise and I really like LaFell, he goes for the ball and his hands are reliable contrary to what the Panthers were saying.

What kills me is that if you read MMQB (King/SI) he praises the O-line. That is evidence that King truly is an idiot. The line looked better because Brady absolutely played lights out and got the ball out of his hands at a lightening speed. I have now watched that game twice and am amazed at how well Brady played. A couple of mistakes but otherwise he played like a man possessed.

Tom Brady IS a man possessed.
Everything about his football career screams this.
He sees his time growing short and viscerally wants that next ring.

IMO it's an under-discussed aspect of the game how incredibly difficult it is for both the QB and OL to succeed with zero running attempts in a half. That was a heck of a half of football.

You get off of whatever it is that you're on and I'll try to help you. ;)

I get the satire. This next game is going to be a barn burner if the Colts come to play.

Peter King is a Manning ball washing moron. He was unbearable when Manning broke Favre's record. Now that Brady breaks Montana's PLAYOFF record, no one seems to make as much noise. They don't even try to hide it either.

You know, that's completely true, isn't it. I don't know why I can't get worked up over it today….maybe because of the fact that Manning was positively dismal yesterday and Brady was epic on Saturday. The words of the media and Peter King and whoever else is still on Manning's jock ring very hollow.

Agree. The other fallacy is the thinking that if you hit Brady, that would put him off his game. Well, yesterday, Brady got hit and hit hard. A couple of cheap shots as well. And his game was not off. No sir. This crap people spit out about Brady is mostly just stupid stuff that really has no merit.

That can't be stated enough.
The Dirty birds beat the hell out of Tom early on. Not just sacks but they hit him brutally (legally) after the throw several times. I think he's well past the mental hurdle of worrying about his 2008 injury and realizes that he MUST do what he needs to do to get that ring. His new found rollout game and running game is an example. Contrast TFB's runs under pressure with Manning's foolish refusal to run unmolested for the easy 5 yd 1st down (could have run over 10 yds before sliding) instead chucking it incomplete to a covered wideout that resulted in 4th & 5.

It is stupid of people to say that. When they do, just point them to the interview Justin Tuck did with Dan Patrick on his show, when Tuck said Brady is the toughest QB he's faced. Strahan has said the same. They referenced SB 42 saying how often and hard they hit TB12, thinking he wasn't going to get up from some hits, and how Brady just kept on going.

However watching Manning playing this weekend, it kinda makes me sad that this day when Brady finally have physically declined will come, and it will come sooner than later. We have maybe one of the best teams he had in the recent years and we absolutely NEED to win it all this year. Seattle is going to be really tough but we need to throw out the kitchen sinks at them and win it at all costs. Don't wait until Brady hits the Payton Manning father time this past weekend and even if you do load up the team with buy me a superbowl mode, it won't matter.

Another indication that I'm surprised you didn't mention was Brady's lack of "Screw it, I'm throwing it deep".

We saw Flacco and Peyton unsuccessfully throw deep passes, and they looked beautiful. For whatever reason, Brady decided to rely on high completion, smart throws to get points. This shows us that Brady has become too conservative in an attempt to hide his age, and thus trying to focus more on meaningless attributes such as being "efficient" and "playing well" and "trying to win".

Significant decline.... :(

Peyton's reluctance to run for that 1st down spoke volumes. They showed a replay from behind him and there wasn't a defender who could have had a prayer of touching him prior to him getting the 1st.

They're just not good anymore!

Hopefully that comment by Trent Diller becomes as famous as Ricky Proehl's "You're witnessing the start of a new dynasty baby!"

I still find it incredible how they ran it ZERO TIMES in the 2nd half.

Technically, there were 4 (3 knees + 1 Brady sneak) but of course those aren't traditional run plays

If it's true Peyton has a quad tear, then no way you run it there. If that quad comes off the bone, he is screwed bigtime. And yeah I know you sell out there to advance in the playoffs, but if the tear is as bad as they are describing it, then there's a 50% chance you're looking at Osweiler in Foxboro.

So he didn't run it. There's now a 0% chance that we're looking at Manning in Foxboro.
