Is Sergio Brown even making the trip?

I thought he was permanently thrown out of Gillette.

Well...thrown halfway out. It was in Indy, but you get the point. :D

You guys "SCARED" .. What happened to this fanbase and region huh.. Every is living a "SCARED" life.. Pats are the #1 seed for a reason.. Colts should be "SCARED" of us .. Strap em up

Only an @$$Hole would presume Victory on Any Given Sunday.

CakeWalks are extinct in the Salary Cap Era.

Having said that...

My GOD, I like our Chances!! :D

It's not about being scared. We're not scared. We're clearly the better team. In a lot of cases, we're clearly the better team. But it's a bad idea to underestimate any team that's in the playoffs. Colts should be treated just like the Ravens, regardless of previous wins.

I have the same feeling about the Colts as I did the Ravens; nothing I do, say, think or believe is going to influence the outcome of this game.
True, but if the general consensus is that the Pats are going to have a cake walk i think that its human nature that the team is going to hear that and it will effect their preperation/mindset. They will say all the right things. How much they respect them, etc. But in the back of thier minds there could be a letdown.
That scares me a bit.

Luck is good but he throws a lot of interceptions still. He cant do that against new England. And our offensive line destroyed them last game. Brady will actually have a running game to work this week. I have never been more confident in an AFC title game. But you never know.

I was very confident in beating the Ravens. We have an offense that has demonstrated it can score big in the air or on the ground against good teams. We have top grade STs. We have a D that has a deep group of solid cover guys to go with better than average rush D (tied for 8th in YPA allowed). Provided the Patriots deliver satisfactorily in all 4 of these areas, the Patriots can beat anyone. It is these 4 things that saw the Patriots burn through a very very tough schedule. It is these 4 things I thought the Patriots would do against the Ravens to make it a victory. So when they fall down on one or more of these areas, it throws the whole 'formula for winning' out the window. That is what happened against the Ravens (they fell down pretty hard on the Rush D).

Next Sunday, if after the first quarter I see the Colts have 6 rushing attempts that have produced middling to not much, we can probably feel real good about our chances (I have that kind of confidence in the Pass D). On the other hand if these 6 attempts produced well on nearly every one (putting the Colts in too many favorable down/distance situations, making our safeties have to lean a little to the Rush D), it's going to be another game we will have to eke out through other areas doing more than their share.

I think the pats will win the game but lets not forget luck has 634 yards passing in does two games if he does not turn the ball over they will give the pats a game

I for one am petrified of Indy. They have something to prove and I am afraid our guys will not take Indy seriously.

This feels like the first new york Giants super bowl all over again.

Us super ****y and them super hungry.

I can assure you, I don't take any contest for granted. Sport has a funny way of throwing up the absurd. Hell, the Patriots lost 2 Super Bowls on a helmet catch and one huge sideline throw to a severely limited, turnover prone QB. If I think that way, I know Belichick will have his team primed.

All it takes is a 1-2% downturn in performance and you lose. This is what makes Belichick a great coach. He recognizes the importance of every single game. The most you're going to play in any season is 19.

What I want to see is the Patriots team that played the Bengals. To me, that was the performance of the season. The whole team played mean that game. That's what I want. Tough, intimidating football.

It's luck... He'll turn the ball over

Seriously??

We're Fans.

They're Professionals.

And they happen to be coached by Bill Belichick, Mad Croatian.

Nobody keeps his team more focused than Bill Belichick, Mad Croatian.

And that, Ladies & Laddies, is why these folks need to ease up on killing Threads!!

I would love to see Patrodamus ~ or whatever'is name is ~ get Tarred & Feathered in Public!!

When I come to think of it though, haven't we done enough to the guy? He has already been emotionally tarred and feathered on this forum by constantly having his thread brought up and being ridiculed over and over again for months albeit much of it was brought upon himself.

Still, it all kinda reminds me of the botched execution scene from the Green Mile. ;)

F it. I don't wanna get ****y, because any given sunday, yada yada. But out of all 11 teams in the playoffs, I wanted this matchup more than any other possible one. We own them. I'm gonna be a lot less nervous this weekend. I bet I won't even feel cold this time :)

here's a cartoon expressing how I feel about all this....

ok we need to just stop threads like these...

Nerves and anxiety usually manifests for me the night before the game.

I think the Colts are a good match up for the Patriots, and recent history signifies that they will be favored next Sunday.

However, I take nothing for granted in the NFL. Any given Sunday means that the Patriots will have to play their best for 60 minutes to get another win.

I'm not disagreeing with you per se, but have you done the 'on paper' math on the Patriots being "clearly the better team"? A quick head to head match up on some of the easily copyable stats:

Indy Rushing: Tied for 19th at 3.9 YPA
Pats Rushing: Tied for 19th at 3.9 YPA

Indy Passing: 7.7 YPA, (6th), 62% completion rate, 16 INTs, 29 times scajed
Pats Passing: 7.0 YPA (19th), 64.4% completion rate, 9 INTs, 26 times sacked

Indy D Passing #15 YPA 7.2, #6 at a 58.9% allowed
Pats D Passing #15 YPA 7.2, #8 at a 59.,6% allowed

Indy D Rushing #23 at 4.3 YPA
Pats D Rushing #8 at 4.0 YPA

Indy Sacks: #9 with 41
Pats Sacks: #14 with 40

Indy TO +/-: #22 with a minus 5
Pats TO +/-: #2 with a plus 12

Indy FG Conversion: #1 at 96.8%
Pats FG Conversion: #2 at 94.6%

Indy Downed inside the 20: 89 punts, 30 inside the 20
Pats Downed inside the 20: 64 punts, 18 inside the 20

Indy record against winning teams: 4-5
Pats record against winning teams (not counting Buffalo week 17): 6-2

Take it FWIW....
