The only catches Smith had on Revis were when we were playing Cover 2 zone and we all know Revis isn't a good zone CB. But when we got down 14-0 and switched to man, Revis completely erased Steve Smith from the field.
Arrington has been surprisingly good this year. I guess it helps that he no longer has to cover the other teams top guys. I was ready to cut him after last year.
I think Revis is getting a bad rap because of the refs last night, but I do think that Browner didn't play great and that Arrington and Chung were awesome. The secondary, overall, was pretty good. Just wish the front line had stopped the run better, and of course, fewer penalties.
The Ravens don't really have the big receivers that Browner excels at covering, so I wasn't expecting his best game.
Revis had a pretty decent game even with the two questionable flags thrown against him. Smith was basically non-existent in the second half because of him. That said, he needs to be in man coverage to start every game to get him in a groove. This wasn't the first time he got off to a slow start when the team played a lot of zone to start the game.
Kudos to Arrington and Chung. Also, it says a lot about the heart of the team when your two best players have big plays made against them that turn into TDs, you give up 31 points, you run for like 13 yards... and you still win. Means everyone contributed. Kind of a 2001 feel... minus the sneaking up on everybody.
Arrington has been solid for 2 seasons now. Cant be surprised anymore.
Kudos to Collingsworth for highlighting that wonderful run support/tackle he made in the second half, where he slid through the line scrum and made the play. Mustve been his experience playing defensive end.
