Saw that on my timeline earlier, seems fairly obvious that both parties have mutual interest in staying together after the success so far, but it doesn't say that any numbers have been considered yet.

Unfortunately its not really news. I think we all knew they would talk.

"They'd"??... does that assume both.

Hmmmm, a more accurate statement would have been - Revis and the Patriots will meet to discuss a new contract as soon as the season is over. They'd, and all of Patriots Nation, would like to keep this relationship going.

Figured this was the case...awesome news if it is news?

What's the deadline date for the Pats to act to get out of the second year of Revis' current contract?

Revis didn't play great today. Hope this will lower his price a bit

Anyone thinking we are gonna get a discount on Revis because of some ticky tack calls tonight are gonna be disappointed. His price isn't gonna fall at all unless he gets hurt or his play completely falls apart for multiple games.

That said, I think he would probably be amenable to a SLIGHT discount to stay in town for a long time - most of the rest of his career if not all of it. I think he would be happy with 85% or so of what a top CB makes, as long as there are good guarantees and it's for a long term.

Will have 0 effect on his price. He is the best CB in the game...even with off days. And that PI on him today was a joke...BOTH were going back and forth...more Smith then revis...

He could suck in AFC champ game and SB and his price won't change. Both want to work something out and he has said he doesn't have to be highest paid..just in ball park.

if we're trying to be accurate it should be :

Revis and the Patriots will meet to discuss a new contract in February. They'd, and all of Patriots Nation, would like to keep this relationship going and Revis wants to make sure to get the right size for his ring.

The deadline is 4PM March 10

Revis played good tonight but not great.. He has been on record many times saying that Steve smith is the best receiver he has ever faced. I think that smith small stature, strength, and high football iq give a revis a little more trouble than most receivers.. No need to be concerned smith just has revis figured out a little better than all the other receivers in the nfl

Let's hope Revis remains a Patriot until he retires. Seems to me that both he and the team might share that desire, if the numbers work. He's made enough money to be all set, and he knows what it feels like to be on a team that isn't very good. He's also said he came to the Pats because they're a winning team. So he seems like a good bet to be sticking around.

Slightly OT but was that Chung that Smith went over to after the game? Looked like a nice sign of respect from a guy who doesn't respect too many football players ....and lets you know it.

Yes it was.. I was really surprised about that too!

Chung played well last night.

Does Rex going to Buffalo change anything?

I highly doubt Revis is interested in going to Buffalo NY lol.
Not the most glamorous of cities to live in.

I agree.. Especially going from Brady to a terrible QB
