I agree with James, Brady is in decline or not the QB he was a few years ago. The question for me is how long can he play at his current level. I am more than satisfied with his current level of play, and I think he can keep it going and not drop off precipitously. He will maintain a high level of play for quite a few more seasons, so as a fan that's exciting. But, he is not the player he once was. But, he is still damn good.

I'm laughing now, he is an MVP candidate and you are trying to say he's on the decline. That's an absurd argument.
You realize you guys are acting like 13 year old girls, right?

Yes, because having coherent arguments is immature, but wild speculations with no actual basis in reality is what the pros do.

Yeah, well, I'll just point to your previous post.

What I find most depressing about this is how effective media-trolling has been at seeping into the Patriot fan base. When click-bait articles started surfacing that Brady was no longer a top 5 Quarterback, everybody rightly ridiculed them. However, speculation segments, radio personalities, and tabloid trash news reporting has continued to push this narrative in multiple different ways and guises, and now here we are.

It's like Winston Churchil said, "There is no such thing as public opinion. Only published opinion."

So I guess this is win for the hyenas who are successfully engineering a quarterback controversy through a long battle of attrition, and inventing the news as they go along. Maybe by this time next year, half the fan base will be `admitting` he's in decline after another 35 TD passes and only 4 INTs which leaves him yet again in MVP candidacy. This will make it actually easier, in theory, for a real QB controversy to emerge and then it'll be a ratings heaven for the people who started this line of baseless nonsense in the first place.

MVP candidate year for Brady with ball washing news reports = Brady is the GOAT and we love him.

MVP candidate year with unfavorable news reporting = Brady is in decline, we need to move on soon.

In both scenarios, Brady plays exactly the same.

I wonder what the difference is

Belichick has never said -or even hinted- that he feels anyone is Brady's replacement.

September 15, 2001:

Belichick had never said - or even hinted - that he felt anyone was Bledsoe's replacement.

So that and $5 gets you a Starbucks coffee.

Seriously, in ALL THE YEARS we have been able to watch BB operate have you EVER heard him talk in public about someone's replacement?

Pats16N0, please show me ONE precedent for that.

Are you actually going to base you view on all the juicy nuggets Bill Belichick likes to give out to the public?

In the 90's we had a HC named Carroll who did things like that. Forgot whatever became of him.

Felger? 'nuf ced.

i realize he is not held in high regard here......and that was partially tongue in cheek

do you see no decline in brady at all?.....his poise, decision making, accuracy.....does it feel as consistent as it once did...do you think he is still at his peak?......the same as 2006-2007

im not for getting rid of him now.......i want him as the QB next year.......i agree with what bedard said earlier this week that it is really gonna be next offseason, not this upcoming one, when they first start to evaluate him and JAG

Yeah, well, I'll just point to your previous post.

Okay, let me know when you want to discuss the issue in a way that doesn't involve you just making things up.

If I need to point it out, you starting a post by pushing the premise that Belichick believes anyone is Brady's successor, is you making things up.

Belichick has never said - or even hinted - that he feels Matt Cassell is Brady's replacement.

Belichick has never openly and publicly said that anybody is anybody's replacement

I'll answer your question directly:

I see a decline in his STATISTICS from a few years ago.

And I keep in mind that he has less offensive weapons than he did in those years.

Bring back a Moss or Hernandez to complement the Welker-Edelman/Gronk (slot WR/TE) positions and we can more aptly compare apples to apples.

Because Wright is no Hernandez, and Lafell is no Moss.

This is what is lost on the Fantasy Football crew.

truth to tell, I think he is actually BETTER this year and is more mobile because he has worked on his mobility. He is moving better than ever - - the leash thing has paid off. i was at Fedex Field for the 1st PS game this year and he was out there 90 minutes before (a game that he was not goign to play in anyway) working harder than any other player. He was on the leash and Harold Nash was working him hard. You could see back in August that that was a focal point for him. Good for him, he increased his game.

There you go jumping at conclusions.

What it means is that NOTHING IS RULED OUT.

You ruled it out because Belichick has not said anything in public about it.

Anyone who knows anything about Bill Belichick knows that that is hilarious, so thanks for the comedy.

Can you point out where in this thread I did that, cause I don't think I did.

Do you guys honestly not see that you are taking huge leaps in logic?

This is how the Spygate argument works.

Belichick fined in 2007 + X = All Superbowls are tainted.

So I'll ask for the third time.

X = What?

When was the last time Bill Belichick ever talked in public about someone's replacement?

We're waiting anxiously for your answer.

Seriously, WTF?

Oh, wait, but Belichick didn't go to Steve Burton on Patriots All Access and talk about possible replacements for Brady, so it isn't a possibility until he starts forecasting about it on television.

Gotcha.

Oooh, ooh, maybe Belichick will come out with a book and make lots of money by promising to divulge his plans for 2017!

I'm sorry, Pats16N0, but you are riding the Crazy Train here with how you think Bill Belichick treats public statements..

I'm not arguing that he has lol.

I'm trying to explain to you that because he hasn't doesn't mean he believes JAG is Brady's replacement.

How you reach that conclusion I have no idea.

X=?

When did I ever say Garropolo is Brady's replacement?

You keep inventing these straw man arguments. Try to focus.

You're not getting it, so I'll simplify my question.

Please name or cite one piece of evidence that reveals that Belichick believes JAG is Brady's replacement.
If you cannot, why are we arguing that Belichick believes JAG is Brady's replacement?
