If McDaniels goes then who is our OC?

I vote REx Ryan....he knows his s***

If this is a meritocracy, I suspect Daboll... he has had the experience, and has worked his way up the Pats corporate ladder...

NEM ;)

(I'm guessing there's a few still here - beyond Ian - who would still remember the reference. At the very least NEM was always convinced he could do a better job than McDaniels... who's playcalling does sometimes infuriate me as well)

I think Ernie Zampese would be my second choice

I was going to post the same thing, NEM!!!

Nah, he'd spend the whole game criticizing himself. It would look like Jim Carrey in the movie, Me, Myself and Irene.

My wish is Weis..... one can hope but will most likely be Daboll as he has experience at the OC position.

BB might just go without one like he did with with DC when Mangini left IIRC.

Daboll if McDaniels doesn't get him first.

Not going to happen, but the one guy I wish the Patriots had brought in years ago . . . Mike Leach. [Look what he did at Texas Tech with the guys Oklahoma and Texas didn't want. Imagine what he could do if he had GRONK to work with. :) ]

Outsider: Mike Shanahan. :D

Daboli would be a strong favorite. The only other serious contender would be "nobody".

Brady...return of the player coach!

His name is...Gladiator...Next Man Up

I have no solid idea, but I'm fairly certain BB knew who it would be 2+ years ago.

Patricia has offensive coaching experience

NEM....!!!!!! Holy crap he used to haunt the old AOL Pats Forum...quick slants and in cuts were his bread and butter talking points...the greatest irony was that was the entire Mike Martz offense that BB out-schemed to win their first Super Bowl.

I'd have to think that two of the most important the criteria for this hire, should it happen, will be:

- Philosophical alignment with BB, Brady, and Caserio (and Adams); and,

- Demonstrated success at NFL level in developing flexible and widely ranging game plans from week to week (how many times have we heard BB describe the Pats as a "game plan team" as opposed to, for example a system team like Pittsburgh or Seattle).

On this basis it would be quite unlikely in my opinion for them to go with an outsider, even Weis. Like most here I'd guess Daboll would be the most logical choice; if he was passed over (again) by BB I'd have to think he'd move on (again).
