I think 2004 (#1 record breaking offense, then the #1 defense at home, then probably the best team the Eagles ever had) was a brutal stretch... and only the 2004 Patriots could have completed it.

This year if it's BAL, DEN and SEA that won't be easy although the Pats have 2 at home....

Of course assuming the obvious....

2004 was simply epic. A 14-2 team.

Had to beat the greatest offense ever (up to that point) - Indy with Manning's 49 TD's .

Then had to go on the road to play a 15-1 team and win.

Then the season-long odds on favorite in the NFC. in the SB.

The Pats simply crashed the biggest waves in the ocean like Godzilla that year.

I left out 2003... the Titans, Colts and Panthers were all good teams but I think it's clear that it wasn't as tough a road as what's on this list...

Pats were a little lucky in the Titans game. Drew Bennett makes that catch then who knows...

Are we accounting for the strength of that year's Pats team? Because if so, 2001. If not, 2004. The 2004 Pats faced a tougher schedule, but were a much better team than the 2001 Pats.

I think the OP is not counting the regular season...

To me, if it's balt, denv, and seattle, it is as brutal as it gets. Each opponent gets harder.

To be the best you have to beat the best. This stuff about the Ravens being difficult is BS. They should all be difficult at this point

2004 has to be the toughest. Colts was a dogfight until Dillon finally wore them down. Can't imagine anything more difficult than @Pitts after they annihilated us in the regular season. That Philly team was really good too. We couldn't do anything against that defense for much of that game. That 2004 team was one of the very best teams of all time.

The question was toughest 3 games In 01 we should have lost to Oakla d Brady goes down vs Pitt and then "greatest show on turf" 01 was toughest

It is easier than last year IMO.

The only issue is BAL. But then again we had 2007/10 in our hands but lost SB/first game, 2001/4 were tough and we won all games so who knows. NFL is best!

Most improbable yes, but just based on quality of opposition I give the edge to 2004. The Rams were excellent, and the Raiders were good, but the Steelers were pretty terrible (Kordell Stewart!)

this 2014 team is the #1 seed and by far the best team in the NFL if they don't win it all it will be a upset

Thanks coach.

Not to be a ****, but even if you give them a 70% chance of winning each game (an extremely optimistic figure), they only have a 34% of winning the Super Bowl. Winning it all is no easy feat. We've seen that the last 10 years.

2004 was by the far the toughest. The Titans and Colts were more formidable foes than any team remaining in the current AFC playoffs, and the Panthers knocked off the Eagles who were the best team in the NFC up until the conference game.

Don't take anything for granted. 04 faced a gauntlet though. But if this team wants to be champs, they have to beat the best to be the best. That's the playoffs. Even the Giants and Ravens beat the best of the best to be champs. Execute and play your A game and odds are good

i agree its hard to win the SB i meant to say is compared to the 2001 team that team faced OAK who with pretty much the same team went to the SB the next season pit was a 13 win team with the #1 defense and #3 offense and the rams everyone was crowning them as the greatest team of all time.

compared to them this team IMO has a easier road to the SB but like you sad noting in the NFL playoffs is easy and noting is given on a on a silver platter they will have to earn it

You have to beat the best to be the best. Let's roll!
