We're on to Baltimore

The Wailing & Gnashing of Teeth hereabouts is as amusing as it is predictable.

Those of you who simply had no particular desire to play the Dirty RatBirds: I am with you. They play Dirty and they make your bones ache. I'd much rather feast on a nice squishy Team like the Colts. :)

But those of you crapping your undies in Fear really need to get a grip: If the Ravens are "confident", then it's because they're stupid. We are now the better Team on Offense and on Defense.

Our 2014 Team is dramatically better prepared to win in January than the thin Team that lost in 2012, and exponentially better than the one that lost in 2009, while the Ravens've at best treaded water. The Ravens just happened to be the Team that was there at the right time and got to knock us out on both occasions, and because of that, "Fans" are quivering in Fear of these clowns??? Time for a Testicular Implant, son.

Can anything happen? Of course: I presume nothing. But we'll probably beat them 27-13 or something.

It seems like people tend to be either arrogantly overconfident or full of gloom and doom.

It's the playoffs. I expect a hard game. If the Ravens had lost tonight, I would expect a hard game against someone else. If we win next week, I expect a hard game the week after. Not sure when people became such cowards about playing hard games. That's what playoff football is supposed to be about.

The arrogantly confident people won't be here if the **** hits the fan, guaranteed. Crawl in a bottle and not watch sports for months at a time.

I agree, I expect a tough game. I'm actually really
Looking forward to the game because I want to see BB v Flacco with a competent secondary. I like Revis or Jamie Collins to take one away from Flacco late and seal it.

Need Solder to show up next weekend.

Hopefully Amendola, LaFell,Vereen, Wright, and Tyms have big games and Brady throws to the open receiver instead of trying to force it into double coverage with Gronk and Edelman.
Tyms should not be on that list. He had five catches this year and four came in week 17

the way to win in foxboro is to have

1) good coach - Baltimore has that
2) good running game - baltimore has that
3) good defense - baltimore has a very good front 7

not saying NE is going to lose, but man it will be tough
Gronk and Edelman should absolutely murder their secondary if Brady is allowed the time. Some screens to slow down that defensive front would be nice. Outside of that, the defense just needs to play their game and keep the laundry off the field.

BTW, the key to this game is establishing the run. The Steelers got WWWWAAAAAAYYYYYY too pass happy tonight. In the first half, they ran 11 times and passed 27 times. In the second half, ran 8 times and passed 21 times. They got way too one dimensional which allowed the Ravens to pin their ears back and put extra men in coverage. That is why their horrible secondary actually looked pretty good tonight because they didn't even care if the Steelers ran the ball because the Steelers weren't going to run the ball.

I will bet hard earned cash we don't establish or stick to the run in this game for very long.

This game will be won with (obviously)Brady/Gronk, but also getting a possible 3rd weapon involved outside of Edelman/Lafell as I expect one of them to be taken away. The passing attack BB & McDaniels devise against the weakness of the ratbirds D(secondary, namely safety play) will be the decider imo.

I'm not sure Balt secondary can take any receiving threat away. The only way that secondary can be effective is via the pass rush.

Yea they have been hot garbage in the reg season, but Ladarius Webb looked damn good tonight against the best receiver in the game this year for long stretches. If I'm a Ravens fan I don't feel bad about the Webb/Lafell matchup

So who will cover Edelman and Gronk then? I think gronk is going to obliterate anyone they put on him

If they use their best DB to neutralize our #3 receiving threat that is a win for the pats coaching staff.

It'll be Edelman or Lafell. Either could hurt for different reasons. Lafell is our best outside receiver by a wide margin. Edelman is the safety valve. Webb has covered Welker in the past when he was in Edelman's role so not out of the question.

If it's me I take away Lafell and take a page from Rex Ryan and clog the middle with multiple DB's where Edelman usually operates and gum up the works there as much as possible. Same deal in regards to Gronk as well, not that it'll work tho. Gronk will get his, don't think he can be planned for, he's offensive JJ Watt.

I'm not that worried, Pats D has been great and the GTFB message will be at an all time high this week. Pats hold the Ravens to 13 points

If I had to choose a word to describe the game the Ravens played today would be Execution.

They played mistake free football, ok Flacco had a brain fart, Forsett fumbled, it happens, but in terms of execution they had a plan from the beginning, stuck to the plan and executed very well.
