The Big Lebowski - a very under appreciated movie

The Big Leboswski my fave movie of all time.. The Dude, Walter Sobchak, Jesus Quintana and of course Donnie.. great cast and every time I watch notice more and more dialogue..
"The Dude Abides"
"That rug really ties the room together"...

Back to the topic what is the link between BB and Eastwood, the Pebble Beach pro am?? That is an annual event for the coach.

Deadliest man in US history with confirmed kills. Pretty insane...but you can't turn that down from Mr.Eastwood.

You can't compare greatness from one era to the next. Look at the equipment a modern sniper has over a sniper from the past. Then there's the uneven playing field. Past snipers didn't have a desert to work in.

As for Clint, he's one of the best. We'll miss him when he's gone.

Rowdy Yates....genesis, you shallow ,pathetically underinformed, misanthropic slackers!

Now that is from the way back machine.. 216 episodes, early on I watched them all, but when I discovered booze and women this did not seem all that important.

We all wanted to be Rowdy Yates...

Yes. Last year he saved a guy from choking - 83 years old..

For those of us who know the area, last I knew he lived in the Mission Ranch area which is pretty much right on Pebble Beach.

BTW, that is what the US Navy billed him as.. Supposedly, there are others who have more..

That being said, I went to the Memorial Service for Kyle that was held at Jerry's World. Talked to people there about him and his memory.. The world lost one of the good ones when he was murdered..

Great movie but that ending left me depressed for a few hours afterwards.

I can understand that. But, at the same time, the messages that it sent was pretty revealing.

Once a soldier, always a soldier.
That even an old hardass can change his ways.
That the sacrifice of one can make all the difference in the world.

Tom Brady throwing a ball in the air- 65 yards.

Chris Kyle knocking down a murdering scumbag insurgent- 2100 yards.

BTW, can I just say that I am surprised that no one's mentioned Mystic River as one of the best directed films.. Eastwood did a helluva job with that, imho.

..and defending & protecting the lives of people who can't fight for themselves.

Not to take this too far to the political, I just want to say that the scumbag media who have taken to calling Kyle a psychopath and comparing him to serial killers such as John Lee Malvo need to be taken out and beaten because they are too stupid to educate...

Another great movie. He didn't act in it so it was excluded.

Flags of our Fathers and Letters of Iwo Jim were also very good.

Gotta add Gran Torino, " get off my lawn". Not getting too political but Dirty Harry nailed political correctness gone amok well before anybody ever thought of it in the early 70s....

And I get how everyone has their own taste.. but it boggles my mind that Unforgiven is not everyone's favorite movie. :)

Best Western, ever.

" I don't deserve to die like this"

Deserve has nothing to do with it."

Not me. I wanted to be Wishbone. Actually I thought that Gil Favor was cool too.

Best Clint western for sure. Not sure about GoAT. High Noon, The Searchers, Butch Cassidy...lots of great ones.
