Not for McDaniels. Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall are there, two guys he shipped out of Denver his first year there.
pretty sure that most of the fan base would cheer if he shipped Cutler out of Chicago

Josh McDaniels HC and Rex Ryan DC would make for an interesting pairing at Atlanta. Say what you will about Rex but he's a fine defensive coach.
now that would make for an entertaining coach's meeting

This should be tampering. Should have to wait til the season is over. Sucks the NFL allows these distractions to occur.

I hate how they allow this during the playoffs

It's even worse when they allow it when your team is getting ready to play in a Superbowl.

Sorry, apparently I misspoke. Negotiating with your under contract head coach as he prepares to lead his team in the Superbowl is forbidden.

Would be great if Josh said no to interviews and proved he's here for the long haul with Brady and Grap.
The Atlanta job is tempting and the owner seems like a good guy.

Screw them, tell 'em to wait until after the the SB or we're out of the playoffs.

buh...buh...but...I thought Sexy Blabbablubbawrecksie was Atlanta's first choice???

This time is not a Browns offer, I think he will get one of those jobs

There should be a ban on any coaching interviewing during playoffs -- that way coaches in the playoffs can concentrate and coaches out of the playoffs don't have an advantage at getting their next gig.

Also it makes no sense to have to request permission to interview a coach when the guy is allowed to leave his job for a higher position. It should either be 'nothing is required' or 'notification that the coach was interviewed'

You don't need to ask permission to interview Ryan.

There used to be a ban. That led to top talent on good teams not getting jobs because teams can't afford to wait until February.

pretty sure rex would be perfect for them. Julio and White? Man those stud WRs would LOVE that!

Shefter just came out and confirmed the report. He also added that the 49ers have also requested permission. If your McDaniels, if you don't listen on these jobs - who exactly would you be willing to listen to? I agree with a few posters above - he's as good as gone next year. He'd be idiotic not to leave, unless of course he knows something about BB's future.

Falcons and 49ers requested permission to interview Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, per league source.

Hopefully he tells them to **** off until after the Super Bowl.
If i was an owner I would use this tactic right here.. if he shows while his current team has playoff games coming it shows me a serious lack of commitment. I wouldnt even consider hiring him.

Why would any owner be stupid enough to do that?

Seriously. Same **** happened with BOB around the Super Bowl. Way to distract people ffs.

Its been mentioned many times, but not so much recently that I'm aware of, but we don't get to keep our Offensive Coordinator around for very long.

Charlie Weis: 4 years
McDaniels - Part I: 4 years (if you count 2005)
O'Brien: 4 years
McDaniels - Part II: 2 years (and counting)

When will we find out if Josh is accepting intreviews as well as his level of interest in these 2 Jobs.
To go from Tom to Collin would be a significant step down.
As far as Matty Ice that is the only situation I see making sense but Atlanta is nowhere near Boston would like to see what his level of love his and his family has for the geographical area.

McDaniels would be a fool to accept the 49ers job. I hope he is smart enough to not walk into that cesspool. For the time being they are tainted and I think his second chance would be a disaster if he went there.
