Tyms-thought he would explode. Was nice to see the flashes yesterday, hopefully he can contribute a bit in the postseason, though I am not getting my hopes up.
Chung-thought he was a dumpster fire in waiting. While he has the ability to be hot garbage (jets game), he has played pretty well this year.
Solder-a shell of himself. WTF happened.
Vereen-thought he would be able to run the ball at least somewhat effectively. Unfortunately the five carries for six yards game was indicative of his running abilities this year. Didn't help that Josh kept slamming his Johnson in the drawer all year with him between the tackles...

I think I was wrong about more stuff this year than ever. I didn't expect LaFell or Browner to have as consistent an impact as they have. I thought Dobson would be a contributor. I thought Amendola would look better in his limited opportunities than he has. I thought Wendell would suck anywhere, and he's been great at guard.

All in all, the pleasant surprises have hugely outweighed the disappointments.

1.) Weve got thompkins and Dobson and boyce, we don't need to bring in any wide recievers

thank god for lafell

Right about Cannon.......Never saw the flashes last year. Reminds me a Vlad Ducasse this year....yikes.

You were right about Cannon? Didn't the team just think highly enough of him to give him a $9mm extension?

My misses were LaFell and the expectation that at least one of the sophomore WRs would take over the outside position.

Mcourty not Elite.

Wow, what a player. I lost track of all the big plays he made yesterday vs Buffalo. Jobbed again by the probowl too from the haters.

Wow, nice troll post. You do understand what yesterday's game was all about?

Maybe we should then replace that bum Brady, huh? 8 for 16 won't do it in the big leagues, eh?

BTW, sorry your guy Rex got canned.

Thought KT would be a contributor

Thought if Chung made the 53 we were toast

Thought Amendoler would have a better year

Thought a BB team would play at its best in December (q.v. Jets, Buffalo offensive stinkers)

Never expected the Solder struggles

Expected Collins improvement but nowhere near what we've seen

Thought Dennard would alternate situationally with Browner

I called into question the hiring of dave deguli...... thought it was a mistake.

Wendell, thought he was a bum, well he is at center, at guard he played very well

Early on saw no hope for the o-line

Didn't think VW would play as well as he has.

Thought Dobson would play....WOW was i wrong

ON the positive side

Never doubted TB was done

Thought Collins and Hightower would be Very good. Collins has played a little better than i expected

Thought that Ayers would do well here, he just needed a change of scenery

Thought Blount would also play well

I was wrong about Mankins four months ago, but not as wrong as I was two months ago.

I was right about Chung but everyone thinks I'm wrong. I hope in the end that they're right.

I thought there was no way Vince Wilfork would come back like he did this year.

I will call myself out only if they win the Superbowl.

Too many to list. I did get into a fight with someone before the season started where I said Tim Wright could have 40-70 catches in this offense depending on how fast he caught on. I was wrong there although I think he was a good pick up.

I am happy to admit I was wrong about my fears that Wilfork may be done after coming of an achilles tear.

I have been on Amendola's case all season. His returns are fairly good but we can't be paying that much money for returns only. I did see he had success yesterday in the second half being thrown to, catching and then gaining yardage. I guess the problem is Brady won't throw to him. So I shouldn't have put all the blame on him.

1. I was dead wrong calling for Cannon to take over at RG....and to think I was doing it for 2 years. :D. Oh well I guess its "on to Flemming"

2. I thought the best we could hope for with Vince Wilfolk was a limited but solid run stopper who could play on first downs and short yardage situations. I certainly didn't expect a guy good enough to exceed 70% of the snaps again.

3. I thought Branch, Cassilas, and Ayers where nothing more than the usual bottom of the roster moves that would have little or no real impact. Ooooops

More Mea Culpas:

  • I thought Dobson would be a 1,000 yard receiver
  • I thought Easley would have 5 sacks
  • I thought Amendola and Edelman would have swapped roles in the offense and Amendola would be the go to guy although I didn't think either would be more than a 800 yard receiver
BTW, I made a lot of preseason predictions (many I nailed). So even though I got a lot wrong, it isn't as bad as it looks since we are only calling out what we got wrong.

I'm probably wrong about a lot of things but can't remember them all, I'll just ask for forgiveness. :)

Coupe I remember, Dobson was going to be great and change the offense, same for Thompkins, thought DA would break out, although I like his role right now. Really thought the OL would play better. Early on I thought TB was done...yes I did, sure glad I'm wrong.

I'm calling myself out for being overly optimistic on the youngin's, specifically Josh Boyce and Michael Buchanan. I thought Boyce could be the second coming of Deion Branch but the last time I saw him play it looked like he never got a playbook. I was really hoping Buchanan would take a year two step but he got hurt.

I also thought that going into the season Hightower might not even be a starter. I'm glad I was wrong about that!
