This thread is a bad idea.Remember 2yrs ago when we wanted the Ravens to rub out the Broncos?,remember when we were laughing at facing the jets in the playoffs after the 49-whatever pounding?,how about how easy it was to beat the Giants to get to 16-0?

knocking on wood as I type this.

Honestly, I think there is a good chance both wild card teams make it to the divisional round. I don't know what the spread is, but I'll take Cinci's declining defense but strong run game against luck. A good run game kills the Colts. Cinci can pull it off as long as Andy Dal-pick doesn't show up. Seriously, the way I look at it, the only thing that idiot needs to do is not lose the game. Don't "Grossman" a long ball into a two high safety set where green is beaten by the zone corner...Don't force something stupid on third and long inside your own forty...basically, don't be yourself in the playoffs...

The last time Indy played Cincy in Indy they beat the Bengals 27-0.
Green was out on that day and might be out again.

Baltimore @ Pitt, Cincy @ Indy. Both games have a toss up feel to them/neither game has a team that jumps out at you to say 'oh they'll more than likely win'. Who our opponent is a week from Saturday is wide open at this point.
The best result for the Patriots is, IMHO, Pitt winning (the Cincy/Indy game being of little importance). I think a divisional round bracket of Pitt @ Denver and Cincy/Indy @ Patriots is a positive for us.

When are both wild card games?

Would rather play Indy than Cinci, the way Cinci looked against the Broncos...

I highly disagree.

I think the Bengals are pretenders about ten times over. They have absolutely no offense whatsoever, in terms of causing us that many problems. Even their #1 weapon AJ Green has been hobbled and somewhat ineffective.

They needed Manning to choke that game away about 3-4 different times, including his four picks, two which were returned for TDs.

I'd love to face Cincy, personally.

Baltimore comes to town. Should be quite the battle. Hopefully the oline gets it's **** together, and Hightower is ready to go. Otherwise things could get ugly.

I definitely think that we match up much, much better than in the past couple/few years with BAL, but there's a part of me that's still leery about them beating Pittsburgh and getting hot at the right time.

Their defense is 7th in the league in points scored, and they've proven to have our number a bit.

That said, I would feel a lot better this time around, since they haven't been playing too great lately to say the least. Then again, that hasn't mattered much to them in the past as they've limped into the postseason before and done well.

If the Bengals have any sense they'd just run Hill 30 times right down the Colts throats. They aren't going to be able to stop that.

There is no way cinci is gonna win. Two words: Marvin Lewis.

So it's either Baltimore or Indy . Is Bell injured?

Both the Ravens and steelers have terrible secondaries but the Ravens have a dominant Front 7.

Whoever it is I can't wait for Shaughnessys March of the Tomato Cans article followed by this board imploding.
To me Indy seems to be the best match up. Although the Bengals always seem to choke, the defensive line has the ability to stuff the run and sack or hit Brady about 20 times.

I don't care what seems to be the majority opinion here, I would love to get the Ravens. With Dalton and Luck we will be in for another round of the containment pass rush. I'd like to avoid that and see us properly pressuring Flacco.

I don't see the Ravens scoring more than 13 points against our D.

I'll be shocked if Pitt (if they get there) and that sub par defense beats the Broncos in Denver.

I don't understand what I believe is an irrational fear of the Ravens by some. This isn't the Lewis/Reed team from several years ago. The most recent Pats/Ravens game was last year in Baltimore and the Pats won 41-7.

About the Ravens... this is NOT the same team that got hot and went on their SB run a couple years ago. I made an observation during that season that they've turned their season around and I wouldn't be surprised if they made a Super Bowl run. There is no indication at all that they are on a run right now like they were then.

BAL's season ends next week IMO and if it doesn't it WILL end in Foxboro and I don't think the game will be all that close.

Not just 41-7 in Baltimore, it was 41-7 in Baltimore in a must-win game for the Ravens to make the playoffs. It's like they absolutely squashed that noise.

All the more impressive.

People are still caught up on the Ravens of the past! This particular Ravens team doesn't scare me not one bit!

I have a feeling Bell will be out for Pitt and the Ravens will beat them. Also Green is really banged up and without him I don't see Cindy beating Indy. It will probably be NE vs Balt and Denver vs Indy.

I think Balt gives NE a scare but we ultimately win and Denver continues to run and beats Indy handily. Shaping up to be a NE/Den AFC Championship game.
