It's not the defense that took the game off. 17 points, all in the first half. Gave the offense great field position with one takeaway. Endured bad field position from one ST screw-up. That's a decent performance, albeit not a dominant one.

The offense is a different matter. But then, there are two guys in the league MVP discussion who showed up for one half of football between them.

Do people not realize the offense performed so poorly because of all the rested players? Did anyone really expect the offense to do well without both gronk and Edelman? What was expected, a 50-0 blowout?
Think about how poor the offense was without gronkowski. Now take away Edelman too.

Plenty of people realize it. I'm not sure what the rest were watching or expecting.

After today, I think the Pats are easily one and done in the playoffs. I really do.

Fourth preseason game.

Fourth preseason game.

What a ridiculous statement. I don't even know how you could say something so ridiculous.

This was like the FIFTH preseason game. :D

It's not exactly rocket science to work out the offense isn't much chop without a functional and healthy Rob Gronkowski. Brady, Gronk and the OL protecting are the three major offensive keys that determine the success of the O.

It seems everyone is fit. That is a real victory!

Good point regarding the D. Even Green Bay didn't put mega points up against us. We won't need to score 40 points to win every game which is huge

"On to the Divisional playoffs!"

Depth on offense is definitely a concern. Either gronk or edelman go out and we're in big trouble.

nah Amedonla can fill in okay with Jules.

we sat a bunch of starters, and sitting 2 offensive linemen, your best tight end, and your best WR, just is too much and then you add in the team had a case of the dropsies. nbd really

the defense is good enough to carry the team in the playoffs.

Blow. It. Up.

Seriously, what a ridiculous thread. We lost a game that didn't matter with half of our starting O and two of our top D players out. THE HORROR!

It was a freaking pre season game on December. Chill the F out.

Yeah he played well filling in for him, but he isn't nearly as good as Edelman. The great thing about Edelman is that he can get open even when Brady has no time to throw. Amendola won't get many yards if Brady has no protection.

Having concern about the offense is absolutely legitimate. However, having concern about the offense specifically because of this game is insane.

Didn't look like a meaningless game to brady, he looked P-O'd...

I really don't think he cared. He looked more bored than anything after they took him out.
