Ravens

People are freaking out about a team that struggled to beat a Jaguars' team that probably wanted to lose to get a better draft pick.

Yes, the Ravens got hot (and lucky) in 2011 after backing into the playoffs, but that team also were playing for a retiring Ray Lewis and got several players on defense healthy for the playoffs.

Bortles
Mettenburger
Shaw (First NFL start)

All 3 at home

Not to mention they struggled against the Titans too, which the Jags and Titans are record wise the two worst teams in the AFC and if it wasn't for TB they would be the two worst teams in the NFL.

Oh and speaking of TB that's who another one of their wins was against.

Here are their 10 wins

Pitt (Week 2)
Cleveland 2x
Carolina
TB
Atl
Tenn
NO
Miami
Jax

What's that 2 wins against teams with winning records?

If that's the Pats all we would hear is how they've played no-one and beat nobody.

Doesn't matter how ravens play during the regular season, they'll put up a fight somehow.
If the Pats can't beat the Ravens, they aren't going to beat Seattle. That's who you really ought to be scared of.

this team has almost no momentum heading into the post season

You mean other than:
  • having the number #1 seed
  • being easily the best team in the AFC
  • winning their last three games (not counting today which was a glorified preseason game)
  • 10 of their last 11 meaningful games
  • finished the season with highest margin of victory of any team in the league
Other than all that, I agree the Pats are limping into the playoffs

I want no part of that team. d%#*!@t. Stupid Chargers lost. Lets hope Cinci wins and they beat them in the first round.

Seriously? They'll play hard but Flacco has no chance vs this defense. No. Chance.

In addition, the BAL D is not the ones of years past.

38-10 Pats.

are people actually worried about this team? Like actually worried then more then facing DEN or hell even Steelers?
Not afraid of them, but I'd rather face Pitt if we had a choice.

And all 3 games were in Baltimore.

I agree. If the Ravens haven't beat the Pats in the past, most people would be hoping they would beat the winner of tonight's game next week. The Ravens are the weakest team in the playoffs right now.

Yeah, Flacco's passing game is pretty much throwing a lot of jump balls down the field. Not a good stratefy against Revis and Browner.

Denver is by the far best team other then the pats and pitt is a close 2th but manning cant win in new England and Brady always lights up pitt even when they are at there best on defense but the ravens are a team that just match up well with the pats and have beaten the pats in new England in the playoffs
You realize that the Ravens team of this year is not the Ravens team that beat the Pats in the playoffs. And that, likewise, this Pats team is not the team the Ravens beat in the playoffs.

Wow...I'm sorry but Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are not walking through that door folks. This isn't your daddy's Ravens. And anytime three teams make the playoffs from the same division it means they played the sorriest division in football. Look it up. The NFC South? Give me a break, if the North played the East schedule the winner of the North would be 8-8 maybe 9-7. Then add in the AFC South which is the weakest division in the AFC. Please....

They still have to win a game on the road to get the chance to play us. And a 4-4 road team with losses to Indy, Pitt, Cincy and Houston doesn't seem to be all that likely. Especially if they have to go Pitt. 4 wins against Cleveland, TB, NO and Miami not one win on the road against a team with a winning record.

That's hyperbole. Indy is playing much worse than Baltimore of late and Cincy is a historic playoff chump. I would much rather face either of them.

I'm no fan of Baltimore and I think fans are overrating them, but they are the worst matchup in the playoff field due to their front seven and WRs in a league where the refs are itching to get as much face time as possible.

Let's be real. There is only one team that we'd like to avoid meeting in the playoffs to get back to the SB if at all possible...and that is the Denver Broncos. I don't want any part of Peyton or those receivers or that defense who are more than capable of playing very well at any time.

The Ravens? Meh. The angst is understandable but they're not the same team from years past. Don't forget the Pats stomped them 41-7 in their house in a must win game for them last year. If the Pats play like crap then sure the Ravens could win....but the fact is the Patriots are a better football team by quite a bit... and I suspect that gap will reflect on the scoreboard. Assuming of course that the Ravens even make it to Foxboro.

I am not sure that is hyperbole at all. As bad as Indy has played, they have won five of their last six games (losing to a surging Cowboys in a meaningless game for them). Baltimore is 4-2 over the same time frame losing to the Texans and the declining Chargers.

I haven't gone through the match ups, but Baltimore's secondary sucks which is a big advantage for the Pats and the Ravens' receivers are inconsistent at best. Steve Smith was All World at the beginning of the season and hasn't had more than 75 yards receiving since October 12th (EDIT: He had 89 yards vs. a bad Saints defense in November). Torrey Smith has always been a feast or famine type of receiver who will most likely be matched up (and possibly shutout by Revis).

Who are trailing 6-0 to the Hill led Rams with 4 min to go in the 1st half.

I don't know how the Pats are going to beat anybody in the playoffs without scoring a touchdown. This offense has completely collapsed down the stretch.

LOL! Today is meaningless. Brady was without his best two receivers and 2/5 of his o-line today and only played a half. And two games before today, the Pats scored 40 points vs. the Dolphins.

Good to see the Chicken Littles are already declaring the Pats dead.

Funny, virtually every team on the AFC side of the playoffs have had offensive issues down the stretch and their offenses are falling apart. Look at Indy, Denver, Cincy, and Baltimore. It looks like the entire AFC field are going to get together this week and all forfeit.

Yes, to whom they've given up two FG drives that between them, total 35 yards.

Denver? As long as it's not in Denver, bring em on. Especially given how bad Manning has been of late.
