I remember Zip's Patriot fan page back in the late 90's....all of us old timers do. Thanx for that link, ricarr

Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

Patriots 2001 FOTY Battles Adversity

2001 Pats Fan of the Year and Bruschi fan Randy has dealt with losing his sight, being confined to a wheelchair for 2 years and since then has climbed all NE 4,000 ft mountains (with some of the posters here) in one winter and now runs marathons at record pace for an unsighted person. His battle to overcome adversity sets a high mark for players recouping from injuries.

Great article.
I miss Tedy Bruschi. There's a hole in my heart for him.

Read the article.. certainly humbling. Puts things in perspective

Absolutely. Funny how i even recognized the name vaguely (since it was always Zip's web page, way back when there wasn't much else on the web).

Now i shall read (hope it's not bad news, i know he had lots of health issues).

Far from bad news, except for the dogs dropping off. Guy's running marathons now.

Not just running marathons.. climbing mountains.. And working to climb Kilimanjaro.. Wasn't that something Tedy was working on also???

I just read the article (despite using up my 5 free looks at the Glob lol) The guy has an incredible will. I was not aware of the lengths he has gone to overcome and triumph, especially the mountain climbing. Got to salute that kind of determination and will to live.

Tedy has already done the big K
I just hope Randy's dog Autumn barks to warn him about stalking lions & mountain gorilla attacks

That's my uncle Randy and by far the most amazing person I know blind or otherwise. Probably the biggest reason I am a pats fan and we call once a week or so to talk football. The stuff he picks up on even without seeing the actual play is impressive as all get out. I remember him beating my brother and I in Madden 50-0 all the time though it's been awhile and I would love a rematch now that I know a lot more. Still you can imagine how embarrassing it is losing to the blind guy.

So great to read about Zip's triumphs. I hadn't known about the Bruschi connection. Good for Zip, good for Tedy.
