likely date for divisional playoff game?

Hell no! Very hard to do this these days. It's not like the 90s when you could vhs it and watch it later. Social media, text messages, and smart phones destroy my ability to keep the outcome a secret.

I completely agree. There's always a spoiler text message, or a buddy who adds:

"The game was on in the liquor store, but I didn't see anything." And, my friends aren't

exactly known for their poker faces. I'll never forget the '08 opener, starting the game 45 minutes late while

waiting for the crew to assemble, only to get a text message that read:

"I think Tom blew out his knee. That doesn't look good." So, yeah, I hate DVR'd games, even if

blasting through the commercials.
 
Do they pick times and days strictly off of what would be the best rated games, or is there a method to the madness?
 
I thought it was just after week 17..like monday or even sunday night?

I think you're right. We should find out after the wild card schedule is set. They don't wait for the outcome of those to determine the timing of the divisional host team games.
My guess is they will announce the wild card schedule before or during the Pitt/Cinci game.

Last year they announced it during halftime of the Sunday night game
