Funny: Rex Ryan could join Pats coaching staff if fired before regular season

I think we should hire him as snack manager just so denver cant get their hands on him. Rex in Denver with that defense makes me nervous.

Good for you Rex Ryan, is overrated and he isn't even close to a defensive guru. He's a below average coach, that will experience short term success in his next stop, but he'll flame out again.
I have lived in Manhattan throughout the Ryan years, follow the NFL very closely and, relevant in this case, read the Daily News every day.

I'm not sure you're right...you might be, but I think that the "noise" created by the Favre and Tebow experiments plus betting the farm on Mark Sanchez (a solid backup, but not an NFL starter), the selection of Idzik along with the drafting of a clueless Geno "I'm the future" Smith have all combined (I'm sure I left out a few things) to make it almost impossible to make a final judgment.

I think that Ryan has matured a lot since the bluster of his early promises of trips to the SB. IMO, he deserves and will get another chance as an NFL HC, hopefully in a franchise that is not as dysfunctional as the Jets organization, which is a mess from Woody Johnson on down (not for nothing has J&J kept him a million miles from the C-Suite of the company his family built). Only then will we be able to see whether you are right.

We can pretty much rule out that, highly unlikely he'll bring a guy along who hasn't coached here at this point in the season. But, next year I would love to see him if there was a spot for him which I find very unlikely. Not going to dump Particia and Rex isn't going to be less than a DC. I think Partricia is a good DC but it's very hard to grade him because we don't know how much control he has in the game planning and playcalling because he's running BB's defense and BB probably isn't going to get into specifics.

I knew the article was crap as soon as I got to the word if.

I know that BB loves Matt Patricia, but this would be an awesome move and I would love it. His players love him and he is a brilliant coach. No chance it happens though.

If BB dumped Patricia for Rex were I the owner I'd discuss honorable retirement terms with Bill
