Don't believe all of ESPN, but this makes sense.

Peyton Manning has great passing stats - he puts the ball in the air a lot. So late in the season he is worn out. It's happening sooner now that he's older - before the playoffs now. The year the Colts won the SB they had the best balanced team. Tony Romo IMHO a less successful version of Peyton is having his best year because his team is more balanced.

And this sports talking head mentioned NE has the best balanced team in some time - i.e. this could be their year, according to him.

I'm no quarterback but after 35 I believe it does.

I understand major league pitchers being on a pitch count. Throwing a baseball is much more violent and destructive on your shoulder and arm then throwing a football. I guess it's not out of the question, but I think this would be a good question for Scott zolak. Maybe someone can call him on Friday.

This isn't late season arm fatigue. This stuff started in the Patriots game, got worse in the Rams game where he got injured, and has gotten worse over the course of the second half of the season. Now, the Patriots game could just have been his struggles in NE, and the Rams game was a game where he was getting hit a lot. The rest of the games are either injury or overall decline. If he's fading starting somewhere around game 7-9, it's more than just a lot of throws early that's doing it.

How much will he be paid next year to throw like a punter would kick a ball?

And yet not once did he say to Dungy, "You know, every year I'm exhausted from all this throwing, and it's hurting us in the post season, because when we get there my arm is dead."

I don't buy this for a second. It's plausible it's true THIS year, but beyond that this is just a another attempt to apologize for his play-off meltdowns.

"He's too awesome earlier in the season for his own good."

To explain Peyton and Brees drop off I refer you to Brady's.
Gee, an offense that counts on a good TE has the QB suffer when that TE is out surprises guys like Monson.

Brady, with Gronk injured, Hernandez jailed and Welker gone (a slot receiver uses the same short yardage middle of the field stuff, generally) affected Brady.

The injuries to Julius Thomas and Welker no longer being WELKER after his concussion upon concussion affected Peyton.

Graham turning lousy (possibly playing through injury - I do not follow the Saints) is affecting Brees. (There is probably more, but I do not follow the Saints.)

Yes, idiots like Monson are surprised by this. (He is from, pro-football focus, I think. The guy who said Brady was declining.)
