Patriots Should Start Garoppolo Next Sunday

Sit him. Brady doesn't need more work and the Bills pass rush is going to be out to knock the crap out of him. The Bills want this game and it means nothing to th Patriots, save Brady, Gronk, and many others for the real games remaining.

Patriots Should Start Garoppolo Next Sunday

Bob George

Christmas came a little early for the Patriots on Monday night.

With this thread title I'm having flashbacks of all the dooo baggies claiming the team should replace TB12 with Garoppolo.

Sports talk radio (and a few not so informed co workers) Brady is no longer elite..... Or...He's washed up. .... (or i love this one) Team has better chance of making the playoffs with Garoppolo.... or...Did you see Garoppolo in the 3rd pre-season game. blah blah blah blah blah

Can we sign Tebow and just run him all day in this meaningless game?

I disagree. remember 2011 when the packers clinched the #1 seed and all bust rested in the last game of the season? then they lose in the divisional round.

While I dont want to risk injury on any of our star players. it would be good for brady/the gang to get a quarter or so in to get some offensive rhythm going. Because their offense hasnt been getting off to fast starts the past few games.

We play a good D-Line in Buffalo. I would prefer that Brady/Gronk/Julian all sit

Edelman plays. He has a $500,000 NLTBE incentive riding on this game (if I read Miquel correctly). If we win game 16 or get to the Super Bowl then he would get his incentive should he not play. Otherwise he needs around 70 yards.

I don't want to "back into the playoffs". Anyway, BB plays his guys in game 16.

Yes, but BB remembers Wes tearing his ACL and the Gronk/Aaron injuries that stifled our offense.

The game is meaningless. And even if they do play they'll still sit next week. Just rest them and practice more. This is a veteran team and these players have been together for a long time. No Gronk, no Brady, no Edelman, No Blount, No Revis, No Hightower, No Jones, No McCourty, no Collins, no LaFell and no Wilfork after the first quarter period. Actually I would not play them at all but I am sure the coaching staff will throw em in there for a bit.

The bolded part is a common misconception that is just not true. The patriots as of the end of training camp were the 11th youngest team in the NFL with an average age of 25.88 years of age. You take out brady and Wilfork the only two with Super Bowl rings and that number goes even lower. I saw a thread recently that only 17 of the 53 players from the 2011 super bowl are still on the roster. Bill has been doing what Bill does....turn the roster over looking for younger better players who will play on cheaper deals.

On defense, I would de-activate Ninko, Revis & McCourty, and have Hightower dressed but on the bench.

On offense, I would de-activate Connolly, Vollmer, Edelman and Gronk, and have Brady & LaFell dressed but on the bench, to be used only in case of injury.

Edit: I was originally going to add Arrington to my list of those who should be de-activated,
but after reading that Dennard & Gray are ruled Out, I now won't have to do that.

P.S.: How the feck does Dennard injure himself anyway, by standing up too quickly to fix a
goddamm snack?

They didn't lose that game because they rested their players.

The team did however come out somewhat flat against the giants
What was their excuse for the close regular season game against the Giants?

There is no way I'm playing Brady with both Vollmer and Connolly out. And how do you get an offense in synch without two starting offensive linemen and without the two top receiving threats?
