Denver is not the team i worry about the most in the AFC

This Pats team wins against any AFC opponent if they stay mentally tough, whistle-to-whistle. This is a team that in a lot of cases found different ways to win. Against the JEST, of course, the JEST found new ways to lose :)

Eli Manning, by the way, is having a good season. He'll finish in the top ten in passing yards, TDs, completions and other categories. The Giants squandered a good year from their QB. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...Category=QUARTERBACK&d-447263-s=PASSING_YARDS

I don't think you understand what a good year is in football. :)

I apologize in advance... you obviously mean his stats are good. Still... think about what you just said. You can't squander a good year. A good year is a winning year. Ws matter. Playoff Ws matter more. Super Bowl Ws matter most. Eli will have zero of these latter two categories this year. He did not have a good year. All the other stats matter in fantasy.

But how 'bout that Odell Beckham Jr. huh?

Things are setting up to repeat like the 03 year. pats vs panthers sb.

Fine with me. Might even give Garappollo some minutes in the big one in this case.

The things that worry me the most about an opponent would be if they had:

-a good defensive line that could cause our offensive line problems
-a balanced offensive attach that could run the ball and throw the ball
-a team that has a really good tight end as we seem like we always have a hard time
covering them.
-a team that has a quarterback that can beat us with his arm and his legs.

In the AFC, there isn't a team that has all those pieces. But with that being said, I think the teams would scare me the most would be Denver, San Diego or Baltimore if they get in.

Odell Beckham, by the way, is having a great season. He'll finish in the top ten in receiving yards per game, TDs other categories. The Giants squandered a historic year from their rookie WR.

Fixed that for you. Eli has had next to nothing to do with whatever success NY has had.

when in doubt , go with the QB . Even with a bad arm, Manning can give you more headaches than all the QBs so denver worries me the most, If we get past the divisional round.

Denver is still the most dangerous though imo.
I have a better chance of blowing a combination of fire and lightning out of my ass to vanquish my foes than Carolina does of making the Super Bowl.

I hope Baltimore is the team on the outside looking in in the AFC, and I think that will come to pass after next week.

I like our chances against any of the other teams. It is interesting that we did not play Pittsburgh this year in the regular season, which is a rarity, so we don't have a current season game to go by. We always match up well against them, though, so they wouldn't worry me, especially in Foxboro.

Odell Beckham had a huge role in Eli's production, but Odell doesn't do squat unless somebody gets him the ball. That's the point. The Giants' defense sucked in 2014 - 28th in yards allowed, 21st in points allowed, etc. Their running game averaged 101 ypg. Eli can't be expected to do everything. The previous poster wrote that Eli had "dropped off the face of the earth." That wasn't accurate.

Oswlek edited my previous statement inaccurately. Changing yards receiving to yards/game works. Beckham is not in the top ten in yards receiving nor receptions: http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving/sort/receivingYards

Hey, I don't even like Eli, but statistically it is not his fault the Giants are a sub-.500 team.

I need to see this at least once, if I wish to die in peace

Why do you hope Baltimore does not make the playoffs?

Denver is still the 2nd best team in the AFC...Bell worries be on the steelers since he is so deadly out of the backfield. But we usually play well vs them.

I will be on pins and needles for every playoff game. Regardless of who the Pats play, it'll be a good team and we could lose to any of them. Playoff losses in recent years have proven that.

I don't think they are the best matchup for the Pats. Games with them are usually seat squirmers of the worst type. I think we can match them physically at least this year, though.

Goheels, just say "My husband cannot catch the ball as well as throw it" and leave it at that :)

Just kidding. Good point.

Which I already did, though it appeared on the next line so it might have skipped past your eye. :)

Feh, Pittsburgh.

They played the NFC South and the AFC South this year.

That is one VERY WEAK strength of schedule, right there folks.

Which they lost to TB (who will be picking #1) and New Orleans in Pittsburgh.

The 26th and 31st ranked defense in yards allowed and the 26th and 29th defense in points allowed.

What you described is Baltimore in a nutshell aside from Flacco can't run. In the NFC, that is Seattle and Green Bay on some days (their defense is inconsistent).

The most dangerous team to our chances of making the Super Bowl has to be Denver.

With a QB of the caliber of Peyton Manning throwing to quality targets such as Demarius Thomas, Emanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas, and Wes Welker..........I mean, it's an embarrassment of riches.

FWIW my best friend is a huge Steeler fan and in discussion I said Pitt might be my most feared at this point with DENV looking bad. He said there is no way with Pitts defense they can win on the road in places like Denver and NE. I tend to agree they are really bad especially on the back end. There offense at this point does scare me more than Denvers...seeding will be interesting this weekend how it shakes out.
