Seahawks look scary

Destroying crappy QBs and doing well against excellent ones are not the same thing. In some cases they actually conflict.
Not sure anyone in the NFL fears anyone else, or what fear or lack of it has to do with performing or winning.

Remembering the SB correctly, they didn't just do "just well" against Manning, it was about as perfect of a defensive performance ever seen.

And I do think players fear other teams/players in the NFL, I don't know how you could think otherwise. Just ask any QB facing JJ Watt, or any receiver that goes over the middle against Kam Chancellor. There is absolutely a fear in having to face certain teams/players. Seattle just happens to have a defense full of hard hitting guys. That can get into an offenses head more than you think.

What does that have to do with the last 5 games and the 2014 defense?

OK, we will just agree to disagree.

I've seen the patriots offense get shut down or slowed down by defenses not as good as seattle. There's no doubt in my mind if we face the seahawks they are very well capable of keeping us under 20 points even. They definitely scare the hell out of me. Not to mention I continue to be impressed by russell wilson and his mobility will surely be a problem. The team I would least wanna see is definitely the seahawks and its not even really close. That being said, we'll cross that bridge when/if we get to it. I'm not conceding anything.

I figured I wouldn't get a response on this. So basically, I said that the Pats are at a disadvantage on one side of the ball against another team and someone sprayed **** all over their pants, clicked a button, dodged a debate, and ducked out. Got it. I have a lot more respect for the people that actually debated me on the issue.

Lol, none of these match-ups favor New England which is why I believe that if these two teams met, Belichick and McDaniels would bring the tendency busters out of the playbook. But until we get the O-line playing back up to it's potential, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Tony McDaniel and co. won't even make those other match-ups a factor.

On Defense, Seattle plays that Cover-1/3, takes away the deep ball and flies around the middle. They win on discipline and aggression. Seattle wouldn't have to fear our deep game. Thomas will sit back while everyone else cheats up. Wright and Wagner can be affective bracketing Gronk as well. We'd have to have success against Chancellor, Maxwell and Simon to move the chains. We'd have to employ 3 step drops and run great routes. CAMERON FLEMING NEEDS TO RETURN so we can run our counters and traps on the inside.

Against their O, we're at a disadvantage because we don't have a 3rd linebacker. I won't count Casillas beccause he is a - in the run game. We'd have to sell out on the run. Baldwin and Kearse get the job done and are versatile, but we'd have to depend on Revis and Browner to cover them. Arrington would get Richardson. Moeki would be their healthiest TE, so we dodge a bullet not having to cover Helfet or Zach Miller. This would probably be a game where NE whips out the 3-4 to contain the run. Silliga, Wilfork and Branch earn their paychecks.

We don't match up well against Seattle on offensively. Defensively, we can hang. We only beat this team by being physical and fundamental, ala SB36.

have you not seen the last few years playoffs exits ..? its normally the offense that doesn't show up for whatever reason ..

Lets see if Josh McDipstick shows his true colors and produces lousy game plans in the playoffs. You can almost count on it especially the closer they get to the SB

That is what I am afraid of.. At times they outsmart themselves

Do you also think that Pats playoff losses in past 10 years have nothing to do with injuries, playing better teams and facing tough defenses?

OK, we will just agree to disagree.

Except for Jordan Hill and some other backup defensive lineman its the same defense from last year.

The Seahawks are a great team, maybe even "scary"... but let's remember who they were facing yesterday.... a third string QB with 225 pass attempts, completion % of less than half of that, 8 picks and zero TDs.

I don't think they're as unbeatable as people are hyping them up to be... in fact I think the Boys are going to give them a real dogfight if that matchup happens in the NFC.

And BB will have 2 weeks to plan for whomever if we get to the SB

I am not taking anything away from the other teams. They did a great job. But there is no reason to be so stubborn that you refuse to change your game plan even when it is not working. When the HC tells you to "get your head in the game" you should realize you messed up.

Seattle is running on all cylinders right now. Who is to say there won't be a little regression, much like we are dealing with right now. If we could jump out early and put some pressure on them, take them out of their comfort zone, take advantage of mistakes... They are not unbeatable. Now let's get there!

What evidence do you have that claims JMD doesn't make adjustments? Vs the NYJ, they went to a hurry-up. Vs MIA they ran play-action and got Gronk more involved.

When the HC tells you to "get your head in the game" you should realize you messed up.

Are you saying that BB told JMD to get his head in the game? When?

Is this analysis a joke?

Seattle would need only 10 points against this team, and it would be a wrap .. Folks, we have seen this film so many times .. tight man to man coverage, heavy pressure destroys the Pats .. Great example .. Ravens, Giants, and to a certain extent the Jets .. Same formula ..
Couple this with a mobile quarterback which is the Achilles heel of our D. It is like the Pat's are afraid to put any pressure on QB's who can scramble.

Is this analysis a joke?

Well, instead of leaving your opinion of my opinion like that, why don't you elaborate on why you feel this way. I'm not afraid to debate with someone and can admit when I'm wrong.

That is, unless you're chicken.

Seattle was still better last year IMO then this year. But i still hate talking about them ATM. Hell GB may make SB. Anything can happen

We match up pretty good against the c hawks actually, historically as well. I'd rather face them then the packers.

to be completely honest, I will certainly be cheering for the Seahawks to lose, due largely in part to potential matchup issues that Kontra has mentioned. I'd much rather face Green Bay or Dallas.

Someone who finally isn't afraid of the big bad seahawks. Give me Seattle all day. I'd say the familiarity with green bay makes it more of a coin flip as well. Wouldn't be thrilled about seeing GB twice.
